I want to install my Adreline but I will not without FP. Thank you for your time.

Spunky

Why not? You already have a fuel pressure gauge, right?[/QUOTE]

Actually I currently DO NOT have a FP guage. I don't drive the truck but maybe 5 miles a week since I removed the Juice... and I really don't mind with the cost of diesel being so high. I just use the work truck to drive around now. Not as cool as mine, but then again, I'll give up the coolness/fun factor for the fact of I don't pay for fuel.

What does it use FP data for?

If I read the manual right, low fuel pressure (user defined) will defuel the module. I believe that is the only control the FP is used for, besides displaying FP and fuel temperature (fuel temperature will not read correctly until and FP sensor is installed). Quad, please correct me if I'm wrong.

Gary - K7GLD has said why I think the FP sensor was BS. Completely because of not being able to get a consistent uniform answer. As far as what you are doing with the FP sensor as to handling the problem I agree 100% you did great. Your product is beyond great and possibly fantastic at least in my view and really sorry you took it so personal!!!

I just finished a trip pulling the 5er with GVW of 21000# with some nice long grades. I have said I was very happy with the performance both towing and non-towing. I want to add since fuel went over $4 I have slowed to 55 both towing and non-towing. In addition had level set at 3 while towing and ran it on level 1 when not towing. In 500 miles with 200 of it towing and as described I had calculated MPG of 17. I think this is also awesome and look forward to see how it is running MPG wise all non-towing.

Quad please don't be to sensitive, the BS comment, at least from me was supposed to be constructive in nature. You have an awesome product and listening to you customers will only enhance and improve the product as you have done during your Beta testing. If on the other hand you take this input personally and close your mind to the input then in the long run it will hurt your product outstanding reputation so far over what we consider poor responses to customer questions. I personally know of very good products where these things have been detrimental to the product reputation and I am very sure that is not what you want.

Oh I will agree my use of the BS was an unfortunate choice of terms!!! You remind me of myself and engineer who deal with inanimate objects(that don't talk back when they don't work and you kick them) and like I was could count freinds on probably one hand(not exactly user friendly and engineers don't need freinds). Dealing with people needs a 180 degree reversal in thinking and frankly is not easy to down right difficult for use technical people. Been there down that and it took a long time to learn and am still learning. It is way worth it though in the long term.

Ok I am done now.

I wouldn't think that there would be too many people that don't have a FP sensor of some kind. That was the first thing I ever did to the truck and the only gauge I had for a long time. The only reason I want the FP sensor from Quad is so I can set it to defuel on low fuel pressure. That way I don't have to stare at gauges while playing, the box will do it for me. :-laf

I have the Quad fuel sender with my Pulse/Adreniline. You can set any low fuel pressure warning you want, and any DE-fuel you want based on pressure or EGT's

I currently have the Transmission temp sender measuring Oil temp which is sorta useless as it tracks the water temp but a little lower. I have the NV5600 and tow so it would be better to measure transmission oil temp. I was thinking could remove one of the PTO bottom cover bolts and use the temp sender there.

Is this possible or if not how to do it?

If possible to use in place of the bolt what parts do I need or if there is a better alternative what parts do I need?

Thanks for the help.

I have an auto, and use the Temp sensor on the test port on trans. My V10 Dodge had the NP4500, I ran synthetic oil in it. But why would you want to know the temp in a manual? Since auto's temps vary due to Torque converter, what gear you are in, traffic, etc. Its needed. Rick

I'd be interested in hearing what you - or others - see as to measured 5600 lube temps, especially under loads such as RV towing. I installed a temp sensor to the outer case of my own 5600 just prior to our recent 1500 mile RV tow down to California and back - the sensor was mounted below the lube line, and immediately behind the PTO cover:

#ad

On our trip, typical temps were about 65* above ambient, which was about 85 degrees. Even the stiffest climbs never took case temps above 170 degrees with my setup - but I have no idea what the actual internal lube temps were...

Sorry for the hijack - back to regularly scheduled programming...

I have a temp. gauge for my trans. in the PTO cover. I took one of those for an automatic where you drill a hole in the bottom of the pan and insert your probe there, I just did that in the PTO cover. Originally had it on my 5-speed but was obviously easy to transfer over to my 6-speed, just changed the PTO cover. I've never seen my trans. temp over 160 towing or not.

What are people using for fuel pressure sending units? I read on glacier diesels website to use the Isspro -ISP-R8917-03, but it has two hookups on top, is this for when you are using a gauge and a chip like the quad that can read fuel pressure. The reason I am asking is, the quad only has one wire and Im assuming it just works like a temp sender does.

Anybody know which setting is better for mileage? PL01 or PL02? I know these are apparently carry-over programs from their mileage module, just wondering if anyone knows which one would do better for mileage?

HHHHMMMM it appears running temp sender in 5600 or measuring engine oil temp about equal in usefulness, NOT. I think PL1 is better than PL2 but somebody running this longer than me needs to answer that I think I just don't have experience enough yet to know. By the way PL0, is that equal to stock in the non-aggressive programs? Also after I get back from my next tow the end of June will be returning my pulse because the bottom button hardly works at all and the next up the down button only works a little better. Can I use the laptop to change power levels etc. like you can with the pulse if so how until I get the Pulse back?

Sorry guys, I just ordered my adrenaline with pulse and want to keep this at the top to read everything in here. Just wondering, all I have is a K/N intake kit and 4" exh, other than the trans is there anything else I have to do before I run this box on a stock truck?

Start NOW, thinking about what your NEXT set of tires will be! :-laf:-laf

Thats great! just what I was wanting to here. Should be here in a bit. Also ordered and airdog 100 to go with it!! Big fun, to bad, for my trans. Maybe I can be nice until next year. The longer I wait, the better one I can have.

Gauges? Also keep an eye on your U joints. Ask me how I know. ;)

Not taping the wire makes it easier to be nice. Talk to Dave Goerend about your needs. It dosen't,t pay to skimp on the transmission.

what fuel pressure transducer are u guys using for the fuel pressure, I need to order 2 of them for a couple of people but I can't find any info on which one to use.
