I recently installed an aeromotive fuel pressure regulator, (model 13301). I have a pusher/oem pump combo and I wanted to drop the pressure from 23 psi to around 14 psi. I installed the regulator between the fuel filter and the VP44. Works great, my pressure is now 14 psi.
This is my question. After the install I started thinking about it and realized that there is a constant increase in fuel flow through the filter because the bypass in the regulator returns fuel back to the tank. Will this hurt anything. Can the filter hold up to this constant increased flow? Should I have installed the regulator between the OEM pump and the fuel filter? Anyone else install their regulator between the filter and VP44? Thanks for the help.
