Quick Question, Please Assist

I have a good Idea of what this is, but, Landmark Dodge names it : Service/Drain crankcase breather bottle. Is this the oil pan, and changing oil?

on the front of the engine there is a breather w/a hose at the end of the hose is a bottle that catches the oil vapor and it condenses into oil liquid that must be dumped periodically.

and common rails do not have them. So, if the truck is an 03 or newer it does not pertain to it

where is the PCV on a 3rd gen?

In the valve cover. Works like you said up top, just drains back into the engine.

it only took them from '89-'03 to figure that one out! LOL!
