Looking at a 2013 Ram 2500 6.7L 4x4 tomorrow. It has 72,000 miles and has had the oil changed 14 times (about 5K miles per change), and had the exhaust, fuel, electrical system serviced a couple times. Wondering if the Ram Truck 100K warranty for the drive train will still be good for 28K and 3 more years? Does the original use as a fleet vehicle negate the warranty to me? Does 36K per year in mileage affect my warranty rights for the last 3 years?

Not sure when the auto trans was ever serviced. Not clear in the CarFax, but it did have 2 consecutive Battery charging/electrical system service records at 48K. None after that, so presumably that problem was cured.

Also need to know the appropriate auto-trans service intervals, since I didn't see any listed in the service records.

Test driving it tomorrow. Any advice welcome

I'd try to verify if both fuel filters have been serviced at the 15k mile interval as set forth by the maintenance schedule. If you will be the 2nd owner, there's no reason why the warranty should not transfer; just remember the amount of time remaining is based on the original in-service date. The 68RFE transmission has a 120k mile service interval if little to no towing, or no police or taxi use. Otherwise---you drop down to a 60k service interval.

with the last 8 of the vin and current mileage I can tell you the remaining coverages and recalls outstanding

So, where is the rear separator located? I want to sound like I know what I'm talking about when I have the fuel filter(s) changed.

Based on info in your signature......you may already be past due. How many miles are on your truck??? When was the truck placed in service???

I've had the truck now since December 2013, with 23 miles on the odo. I had the fuel filter and water separator changed at 10,273 this past February. I went back thru my service records to make sure both were done. I'm not much of a gear head on these new rigs, but try to stay on top of these posts so I don't miss anything. The truck currently has 17,800 on it. My thinking is that the fuel filters(s) should be changed at least once a year if I'm not putting the miles on it. Thoughts on that?

2013 fuel filter service every 15K. The truck Im eyeing had it done every 10K. Rear filter ahead of rear diff, along inside edge of fuel tank.
