My rear end and/or rear tires seem to make noise when I turn left. When I turn right I don't hear it. I have used Mobil 75w90 syn oil. Should I switch to Amsoil and see if it makes a difference. Or do I have a problem with the limited slip mechanism. If the limited slip is shot is there a better aftermarket unit to put in?

Does it do it under power or under coast or both? Some noise from the tires slipping when your under power going thru a corner is normal, its the LS working.

The next question is are you positive its the rear diff and not a bad u-joint in the front end? Noises travel and frequently it is hard to absolutely place.

Shouldn't be a bad u-joint in the front end as they were change a couple of years ago when I did the DT free spin. The noise is both under power and at coast. I notice it when I am on dry pavement. Why when I turn left instead of right and left?

Thanks CR Toney

i had same noise.

turned out to be a spun bearing on rear axle.
it had made flat spots on top and bottom of axle tube.
(it spun where it should have been stationary)
after fighting dealer, the put a new axle assembly in my truck

That does not sound good. Was the race for the bearing what was turning? I will have to take my diff cover off sometime soon and have a look to see if something looks out of place. I imagine the cheapest fix would be to find a whole rear axle assembly.

yes race was spinning on axle tube at the end of the axle.

they tried o hit me up with me damaging it, at like 3700
i have a short bed and no GN hitch, i said i want to talk to regional rep, and a couple hrs latter, "its on order"

i thought it was frt u joints and told them they better do both. lol
i did look at it ans it was pretty flat.

it made like a light clicking noise when i turned.
