I just had my 2001 2500 rustproofed, and had running boards and mudflaps installed. I had a 99 2500 V10 truck that I did the same way.

This truck, however, seems as if the mudflaps are not hanging down far enough, as the rear tires are throwing mud up the side of the bed toward the rear. I asked the people who put the flaps on and they said because of where the tailpipe exits, they were afraid to put anything longer on for fear it might get against the pipe and melt.

What are you people doing for mud flaps? I tried to search mud flaps but it tells me that mud does not have four letters and I can't do it... .

The truck sits somewhat higher because it has 255-85-16 tires, which look real good on these trucks.

Any help you can give me on this mudflap issue would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you... .

I have the Rhino liner mudflaps. They dont cover much, so i still have mud to wash off the rear quarter panels, but they do help. Seems like the only way to do it right is have mudflaps that go all the way down almost to the ground, but i think that would look nasty.

I really like the NW Custom but my accountant wouldn't release the funds to buy them. I like the ones I got from the Cummins Powerstore. That and they were less than 40 bucks.

Gordon,

I have some DC mudflaps (sorry, couldn't find the part #) that prevent mud or stones from hitting the side of the truck. They stop 8" above the ground. They are pre-putched and come w/ pretty good hardware. As I recall they were called extra long at the parts counter. I recommend them.

I am in the process of installing a set of Pro-Flaps on my truck. They are heavy duty thermoplastic rubber, and have thick stainless-steel weights on the bottom. Look real sharp, the shiny stainless really compliments the truck. I got mine from 4wheelparts.com. About $150 for a set of 4.

:D

Pretty cool Evan although, as you know, I purchased F&R Pro Flaps for my Ram prior to going with F&R NW Custom mud flaps. The rear Pro Flaps would have installed OK although I could see there was going to be some pretty extreme interference between the front flaps and my 285 tires... back they went to the 4x4 store. I ordered a set of NW Custom mud flaps (the second ever set he made out of brushed stainless steel) and have been EXTREMELY happy ever since... even if Rob Hanson's are 2" wider. :D

..... in all fairness, he has a 3500 and I have a 2500 so at least I have better protection. :p:p:p:p
