Sounds like you want a Q-Cab. Have to reason that 6' tall kids are not going to be in the household that much longer. We took 3 adults on a coast to coast trip and was on the road for a week driving all day long each day and the Q-Cab was doable.

This is exactly why I bought a Mega Cab and put the long bed on it. I have 4 friends with the QC and one trip sitting in the back is one too many when you're 6'3". For less than $33k, I got the truck I really wanted.

My son is 6' 3" and he doesn't have a problem with his 04. 5 QC and he has two young boys in car seats. On long trips they often take his mother-in-law, who sits in the front and his wife, who is tall at 5'10", sits in the back with the boys.

My son and I both feel that if Dodge made a mega cab with a 8' bed, we'd still get the quad cab. Nothing a thing wrong with it.

I wouldn't have a problem with a quad cab either if I never had anyone riding in the back seat that was 6' or taller. There are no issues when you ride in the front, but I'd bet your son would sing a different tune if he had to ride in the back seat when his other 6'+ friends are riding in the front or if he had to jam up against the dash to give the guys in the back some room. Tall people in front + tall people in back = uncomfortable. That was my point and why I got the more spacious cab. People in car seats don't have long enough legs to get jammed up, obviously. I have two in the back seat of my pickup and am glad I'll never have to hear about someone being cramped.

Dan-

My vote is for the Mega as I have had both cabs and the seating was far more important to me vs. the longer bed. When I need a larger hauling space I simply pull my 10 foot trailer behind me which fits my needs. Yes 5th wheels can become an issue but my friends who have the Mega-cabs are using the slider-hitch and have zero issues. Note: My buddies are weekend campers so they dont pull the 5th wheels more than they would haul their families around. You will absolutely love the extra cab space if you decide to go with a Mega. Good luck!!
