Will the sensor work in a 06? I have it already on my 03 and when my new truck comes in I was going to put the stock one in the 03 and take the modified one for the 06.

Thanks

JIM

Drove the truck today for the first time after installing the sensor. I really do believe there's an improvement in the low-end power and acceleration. Though I know the overhead computer isn't the most accurate measure, I did achieve 21. 2 mpg coming to work where I normally average about 18. 5. I'll hand calculate the mileage when I get low enough to fill up again.

Overhead is a good way to get an indication if your mileage is increasing or decreasing. Calculating by 'hand' is imperfect too. Compare the two methods if you get a chance.

I agree. Although the overhead should not be trusted for actual mileage it will give you an indication of whether or not your mileage is improving.

On three occasions I have reset my overhead when filling up and when hand calculated it has been within . 5 MPG.

Glad to hear the 600/610 people are getting improved mileage with this mod. Was anyone able to answer crobertson1 question on EGT's?

Thanks KB. BTW, check it out. We're tied! Well we were .

Is there anyone else who can offer EGT data?

Rokk the pup

Will the ROKK work with the bully dog power pup? If so what is the best setting on the pup? I have an 03 HO ... ... ...

Well I installed the Sensor and from what I can tell the milage had went down. I took it out tonight and will see if it makes any difference. Going to be hard to tell with winter blend fuel and cold weather upon us though.

JCROCKETT

another gentlemen posted the same thing a short while back and i asked him if he followed the direction carefully and held it as the directions said while tightening. when he came back he re-did it and made sure he did and then he saw an improvement. Just thought i would see if you had or not. it may be the reason. there is a possibility too that your tone ring was set to the advanced side when Juan Valdez and his mule installed it so you may be at the point of being over advanced. without knowing your mileage before it is hard to say but if you check it and it is installed properly listen to the motor and see if you notice it pinging which is a sign of over advanced timing. if it is pinging and your mileage was good to start you can try backing it off a bit by holding it slightly back from the described position. :D

My mileage went down as well but the whole winter fuel/colder temperature thing is making it difficult to compare. The roads are slick enough now to need 4wd more. I re-installed it tonight to verify that I had followed the directions (I believe I did) and I will try again.

My EGT has dropped about 150 after the mod. My MPG's have gone up about 2 mpg (hand calculated) My overhead is always low by 1. 5 - 2 mpg. Can now start off in 3rd gear (unloaded) that used to take lots of throttle. Great mod...

Looked good to me too so I got one. Just put it on and pulled the 12K 5er about 1000 miles. Getting about 1 mpg increase towing (from 10. 5 to 11. 5 mpg) and about 1. 5 mpg empty (from 17. 1 to 18. 6 mpg). Did notice considerable ping or rattle while towing under heavy load but I just backed off a bit and it went away. I noticed the same results as some of the other posts, like smoother idle and slightly better acceleration under light throttle. Seems like a good deal to me.

I remember when I first bought my truck (used with 13000 miles) the exhaust had a funny exhaust smell. After I installed the Rokk CPS, the first thing I notice was a different smell in the exhaust, now it smells like a real diesel truck. Any one else think the exhaust oder has changed or do I need to go inhale more Diesel exhaust fumes :)

I thought that too. After I got back from my 30 mile test drive & I backed into my shop & let the turbo cool down. I got out of the truck & thought this thing smells different, maybe a little less carbon.

Did this install on my 03 305/555 3/4 ton 4x4 last Tue. Right off the bat noticed a smoother idle and much quieter. Did not notice any performance inprovement but then with the 48RE didn't really expect to feel much. Went for an rather long trip (long for me) over the last two days. This was a trip I had taken before and had recorded the MPG on that trip under very much the same conditions and temps. I have used the overhead from the very beginning and found it to be very close.

Results: 18. 7 MPG on prior trip to 20. 0 average on this trip.

Very pleased. Larry
