It looks like I’ll be pick up a new 3500 DRW 4x4 Tradesman tomorrow.
With low inventory and high prices I found what I wanted 2 hrs from home. It’s a Granite Crystal Tradesman with 5th wheel prep, 50 gal fuel tank, manual 4x4 selection and u-connect 4 with 8.4 display. Pretty much what I want without all the bells/whistles.
I was going back and forth on the Aisin or 68 transmission bunt for my use I think this will be more than enough.
Hoping a little better mpg anencephaly this was the only 3:73 I could locate.
Anyone have RPM at 70-75 mph and what can I expect for mileage. (12-15?)

DRW will see about 1780 rpms at 70 and 1900 at 75.

DRW mileage will also be a bit lower, expect 14-17 highway empty.

From what I’ve read the SO’s burn a little more DEF, likey due to the higher compression.

Thanks. That’s a little better than I expected. 1900 should be right in the sweet spot.
I just sold an 04 SRW with 4:10 and at 75 mph I was running about 2400 rpm and 13 mpg.
I thought the older 5.9 would be better.
Even the the 3rd gens are much simpler, they can’t compare to the newer trucks for comfort and power.

The HPCR 5.9’s on stock tuning fall off on mileage pretty quick above 2000 rpms, especially if it was a 04.5.

What NIsaacs said for RPM. I'm getting a tad over 20mpg. 10.5mpg towing a fifth wheel at 70 mph.

I was dumbfounded on my latest trip to Idaho pulling the 17K 5th wheel. I got better MPG at 70 (1800-1900 RPM) with the 4:10 rears, approx 10-11mpg (until wind or hills popped up) I figured it would better at 65 or less but not the case...Pleasantly surprised.
