i too have been getting the same thing happing to my truck too it will sumble and jerk, and when it does this the tack will ether go to idle or all the way to 0 and it will some time's it will suumble when at idle and in park and it will just die!!!!!!

not steal this thread but i did the the cluster test and got a the "C_code of 81 00 then the 00 00 this is on a 2004 and this is to cerberusiam what is that code mean?

81 Remote radio switch input circuit high. Refer to the appropriate

diagnostic information.

Not sure if that is even valid on oyur truck but it comes up in multiple places as the code.

The 00 after the codes is the count of the errors. Since it is zero have to wonder if a glitch in the circuit board is the Mine throws 0d 09 all th etime and nothing is wrong with anything.

thank's for the quick reply back on the code! i will just keep digging in to the problem and mayby it will just quit or hope it will trip a code under dtc code part to find it!

Your symptoms are reminiscent of a sticky FCA. If you haven't replaced it that might be the issue. Power Service and 2 stroke oil seems to make them work longer with less issues.

Your truck is also a candidate for a rubbed wire in the AC control harness.

Couple of things to think about and check. :)

the fca has been replaced when the new cp3 pump was put in at about 70,000 mile and the truck has about 78,800 mile now, and before the pump was put in there was three other fca's put in becaouse of this problem i did look at the a/c wiring!

The a/c wiring you just fallow the wireing from the a/c pump up to ware it joins the rest of the harness right? to see if it rub's against any thing right?

I have now run the truck for a couple of weeks with Edge EZ disconnected, and so far the truck has not had the RPM drop problem. I will continue to monitor this, just in case it could be something else. I feel comfortable that the EZ did cause this problem, only because of the comments made by the tech a Edge. I told the wife I need to get a new EZ. . she said why? Women just don't understand men and trucks! :{

I understand men and trucks fairly well but I also don't understand why you want to buy another product that clearly doesn't last very long.

I've read comments recently that suggest many who use them experience problems similar to what you experienced.

How many months and mile did your Edge product last?

I wouldn't consider something that lasted almost 8 years as being something that doesn't last long! This worked without a hitch, with increased power and I got better fuel mileage when towing my fiver. If you figured what I originally paid for the EZ, it cost me about $53 a year to use it. I would say that was a pretty good deal. And Edge would sell me a new one for $250, which if that one last as long would only cost me $31 a year if it last another 8 years. Also, I got over 100,000 miles worth of use out of the Edge EZ. I think I got my moneys worth! :)

I might think about about something else later. But, since I don't have an RV or pulling anything at this time, I really don't need it. I can use the money on something else that I don't really need! :-laf

Well it looks like the Edge EZ may not be the problem! The wife called and told me that the truck did it again! I will check again for Codes and Gauge problems, but this problem is driving me crazy! I just don't understand why this problem only happen once in awhile.

Spoke to someone today from Chuck's Speed (an ATS dealer) he said that is was not the transmission. It most likely the speed sensor, since the problem happens when the cruise control is on. He thought that it may require a reflashing if it has not been done for sometime.

throttle position sensor bad or chip

My 03 had a throttle failure towing heavy up a steep hill at 30 mph, auto in 2nd gear. The engine went from higher rpm down to idle and stayed there for a bit. The truck has worked fine since, and the engine light has since cleared.

A mechanic scanned the truck, telling me the throttle position sensor thru the code.

The truck has a super chip on towing mode, and has been an outstanding truck till this happened.

My question, is this caused by the chip, or is this sensor to be changed out and problem solved??? hmmm

This is the same problem I had, but more then once. Mine never thru a code and that was part of the problem. I had the Edge EZ tow disconnected thinking that was the problem, but it happened again anyway. I have since reconnected the Edge and I have had no problem. Beats the crap out of me what the problem is!! It magically repaired itself! Maybe it was the Aleve that I put in the tank that helped. . :-laf
