:confused:Ok so, I have this problem where the motor wants to continue to run after I turn the ignition switch off. It doesn't do it all the time but it's starting to do it more now. So far it only takes a re-run thru the ignition and it stops. I replaced the ignition switch about a year ago so I'm assuming thats still ok. I believe it's got to do with the fuel solenoid or the lift pump. Can someone point me in the right direction please? I know this is a fairly common problem but I don't remember where or what to start looking at. My thanks to all that reply.

Is the rubber boot still intact that protects the solenoid? Is the solenoid working? I think a few people had problems with the turbo leaking oil into the intercooler. The engine would start to run on the leaked oil.

This could also be the starter relay sticking. Maybe time to reuild the starter. A stuck starter relay can back feed thru to the fuel shut-off solenoid and keep it on.

Make sure the bolts that hold the bracket and solenoid, are tight. mine came loose once and that was my problem. One does not carry this size bolt as replacements, they get lost easy. Thats why they are long.

It's a binding problem somewhere. MLee has good advise too. Once the power is off the spring is the only thing pushing the lever down to the off position. Any binding or restriction can keep it from pushing down. First check the boot. My guess is a piece of boot or other debris has gotten into the solenoid causing the plunger to drag in the solenoid. Second, check to see if the rod end is free. Rust and other junk can cause binding here.
