Security group?

I opted for the security group. Does anyone know what is included Ordered my truck w/o doing as much research as I should.



Seemed like a cheap option. Did I order one of those annoying alarms that just irritates the parking lot?

Unfortunately my garage isn't big enough for my truck. Any idea of alarm function? Motion sensor, Key sensor etc. .



KBB is on my favorite list with many others--great site.

Don't think there is a motion sensor, but the doors are covered & of course any ignition tampering... . I'll have to try the hood, if it monitors electrical load... . it should trip the alarm from the light.



Anyhow... . here is an important tidbit if you have the sentry key system



You have to have TWO current working keys to program a third... so first stop should be to have an extra key cut at the dealer, then program it yourself as soon as possible & put it away.



Its easy to program the new key, BUT if you wait till you lose one of the two keys the truck comes with, the only way to get another one programed is by some sort of dealer only computer programmer. (Which I've heard runs $60-70 OVER the cost of the key itself, which I just paid $40 for!)



Your vehicle will start & run for a few seconds with a non-programed key, but then it kills the ignition and can't be restarted!... .



Something to keep in mind if you have the Sentry key... .
