Let me challenge you with this . Show me the same number of failures and recalls within the last 11 years (2007) from any other filter company that is not Fram or owned by a subsidiary of.
If you can actually do so, I'll be happy to provide more recalls. Directly from Fram/Honeywell website.

JR, you just scored 1 point. LOL I only looked a the first page of the post, in no way shape or form would I wade thur 5 pages of drivel... in the scheme of things how many filters do you think Fram sold?

you also realize Fleetgard recalls and you can find people on other forums who bad mouth Fleetgard with just about as much authority.

If someone gave me a case of Frams I would use them

All I'm telling you is your assertion that Fram has an "undeserved" bad rap is out of touch with reality. Let me ask you this, who would you be more comfortable with on the recall end, a company that makes a voluntary recall because they found a potential problem (Fleetguard) or a company that was forced to administer a recall by NHTSA. (Fram). This is a repeated event.

Comparing apples to apples, the NHTSA MANDATED recall on the Subaru oem filters made by Fram affected nearly 300,000 filters. That's just one recall of MANY.

I'm not looking for an argument for argument sake, I literally have zero skin in the game. I make decisions based on facts not emotions. The whole point I'm making is this, some filters have a bad rap. And deservedly so . Fram/Honeywell/Champion is no acception . That is all. :p

Some old info here on recommended oil filters for 1st and 2nd gen Cummins. I would think if there was a warrany issue with using a certain filter, they would put out a TSB on it?

Surprisingly to me Donaldson is not on the recommended filter list. They have extensive production and research facilities and are a widely trusted brand. Others like Purolator change their supplier several times a decade I am sure. I doubt that they would be on the list if it was updated today. And I've heard of people with real questions about AC Delco filter quality (which surprised me because I think they are recommended on GM vehicles to preserve warranty??)

Baldwin is company that specializes in filters as well for all sizes of diesels. But they don't really make a stratopore equivalent and it seems they don't update their product as often as other filter specialist companies. I'm surprised they don't try to stay ahead of the game on filtration???

So, old info. Maybe interesting to some? See below.

Newsa, as far as I know Fram is a manufacturer , not a relabeller.

No filter maker to include FRAM, manufactures a complete catalog of items. All the filter makers cross pollinate each others catalog with contract filters. Each of the major filter makers have efficiencies in making certain filters that the others do not. Usually this is for niche or low volume filters.
