C. D. Day and all
Here is what I am thinking, but I have not had a chance to prove it.
The other day, I drained the water trap on my fuel filter with it running ('99 model). I do this regularly... maybe I should, maybe I shouldn't. Never really gave me a problem until the other day.
When I opened the drain and fuel started running out, down at the bottom where the drain attaches to the fuel filter, there was diesel running all over the lower valve assembly. I drained a little and closed the valve. The next time I killed and restarted the truck, there was my slow start (turn over several revolutions).
My suspicion is that the gaskets are leaking and letting air seep into the fuel system. The truck is still doing the several revolutions thing when starting. I will check this out when I get a chance and report back to the group.
I hope this is it. The slow start has happened before and the moron dealer
