Smarty CR software updates

For the 07's. The trip data is worked out. We're CLOSE to ready / ready for the first beta tests... .

From what I understand it's may be the same programmer but, it can't be used on older models. The 07's programming is different from 03-06 so the software loaded on the programmer will be different.

the 07 smarty will use the same electronics as the 03/06 smarty and yes they will be loaded with grouped softwares.

I loaded the updated software this weekend. I also noticed that the cruise EGT are now 25-50* hotter. The "moderate" program now feels like the older "mild" program - harder to spin the tires off-idle now!

Fellow BOMBers,
I've checked the softwares. No human factor involved... no errors.
Looks like ol' Marco is better than what I had thought. :-laf

I've also tried both the "new" and "old" softwares in my truck ( one more time. . ). Makes no noticeable difference in my truck . EGT's and power remain the same with both. It's amazing how these CR trucks react different one from the other to the same mod!

It looks like the new "anti rattle" timing is great for the guys with aftermarket injectors but not so good for the stock sticks. Hmmm, amazing.....

I can always re-do the softwares and have both timing's availabel for download. ( Is that a good idea??? )

Now before I do that, please help me understand exactly what's going on.
The lack of power and higher EGT's you notice is under "light" throttle only,

This would be great! I have the aftermarket injectors, but since buying the adjustable timing TST a few weeks ago the Smarty before the "anti-rattle" changes works well.

lack of power feeling is just off-idle for me. The higher EGT is under light throttle, lvel ground cruising on the highway.



The beta "anti rattle" program that Bob sent me felt stronger off-idle than this current "anti-rattle" program.



The original Smarty for the CR when first released actually felt the strongest off-idle - even more than the current moderate programs. Of course, the original Smarty CR program also had a very touchy throttle that a few folks didn't like.

Just download the Moderate version. It's the exact same thing. Just no timing rattle.

06' is a different smarty program than the 03'-05. 5 smarty
