Smarty downloads HELP!!!!!

I dont consider myself dumb as far as computers go but I just cannot figure how to make the downloads work am I saving in the right spots who the hell knows. Anyone have some instruction easier to follow? Thank You

Did you download the program at the bottom of the SW list. There's a program there you need. Also, the files have to be "unzipped". Google "7z" or "7unzip" or something like that. I know my way around a 'puter and it took me a while to figure out WTH was going on.

Don't feel too bad. The instructions on the site suck. They assume we know more than most of us do.

Do a search here. I've seen better answers than the one I just provided. It's been too long and I really don't remember specifics.

Your not alone, it is a PITA, and a very common complaint. Bob Wagner will probably notice this thread soon and hook you up right and proper, but it's Sunday so you may need to exercise some patience. It has been over a year so I remember NOTHING about the process, I must have consumed too much vegetation and malted beverages in high school.

PM me with you email address and I'll send you an idiot proof (I'm a computer idiot) step by step instructions with pics. I never fugured it out but a gentleman from Austria (go figure it takes an Austrian to figure out an Italian) that is a member of DTR AlpineRAM. It is very easy once you have the instruction.

I agree I thought I new a little about computer too, but when I saw all that suff to do I just said forget it. I still have the origanal program that my Smarty came with a year and a half ago. I would sure like those instructions that the Austrian feller' is sending out.

Its downloading now. What a pain!!! A cd sent with the smarty would be alot of help. (Bob) I dont think it would add to much to the cost of it sure would be worth it. oh well its done now 30 mins and more smoky burnouts cant wait. Thanks to all for your help.

To be able to update your smarty ecm tuner. Please follow these guidelines.



Start by right clicking on your desktop to create a new folder. Rename the new folder smarty.



You will need to download the driver to the smarty folder. Save the driver to the smarty folder http://www.madselectronics.com/downloadfiles/CDM_2.00.00.zip



You will need the smarty usb. exe This program allows you to update the smarty. Save this to the smart folder LINKS TO EXECUTABLE FILES NOT ALLOWED









The driver and the software programs need to be extracted into the smarty folder using THIS extraction tool. LINKS TO EXECUTABLE FILES NOT ALLOWED?download





Here are the directions for installing the driver http://www.madselectronics.com/downloadfiles/USBDriverinstallation.pdf





Once you have the driver installed you can use the smarty usb. exe program to update the smarty software. Click on the smarty icon. Press run. You will now see a seen button. Before you hit the send button you need to load a program into the smarty usb. exe. Click on file. Open , look in the smarty folder to find the smte file to load into your smarty.



Load the file and press run. It will take about 40 minutes to update your smarty.
