Who's got a pic (or pics) of this setup on their Ram? Jason Burton (owner of NW Custom) has one of these installed on his Ram... I checked it out at Dyno Days however, I didn't really think (seriously) about adding one of these to my Ram until a few days later. This presents a problem... I didn't really pay much attention to the attachment method, points etc. Hopefully some of you could shed some light on this.

Also, have you experienced any problems? BTW, I'm ONLY interested in purchasing the powder coated gloss black version with the headlight "ears".

Thanks in advance. #ad

I have the Outland Sport Polished stainless steel guard. Its the version that only comes up to the top of the bumper. It is beautiful, really well made, all the bolts and washers it comes with are stainless steel too. It is simple to mount. Took me about 30 minutes to put it on. It uses exsisting bolts underneath the bumper, you wont need to drill any holes (at least with the version i have). The larger version you are talking about i think uses 2 more bolts on top that you may need to drill for. But i cant say for sure. All i can say is i was MORE then happy with the quality. Great product. If you want, ill send you a digital pic, just let me know

Thanks EMDDIESEL. I saw the model you have in the latest JC Whitney catalog... kind of reminded me of the General Lee on the Dukes Of Hazzard. #ad
Pretty nice however, I have a black Sport and thought the full blown brush guard (with the "ears") in the powder coated gloss black would look pretty trick.

Another question that comes to mind; I'm wondering if the light mounting area would facilitate the installation of a pair of PIAA 90 Pro lights. These are PIAA's largest rectangular driving/foul weather lights. These auxiliary lights have TWO mounting studs instead of one (guessing. . about 1. 5"-2" apart on C/L).

I'm guessing I would have to lose the Mopar tow hooks with the installation of this accessary... is this true?

The main reason I'm so interested in how the Outland brush guard mounts is because I have a '98. 5 Sport with a '99+ Sport grille HOWEVER, I retained the '98. 5 bumper. #ad
???? It's really pretty simple... I prefer the look of the early Sport bumper but, prefer the look of the later style Sport grille. In order for the two to coexist I had to modify the top of the bumper so the grille closes in behind the top of the bumper. It looks pretty trick although, I'm concerned I may have mounting concerns with the Outland brush guard.

With the Outland you will have to drill two small holes in the top of your bumper. These just stabilize the grillguard. You will have plenty of room to mount the 90PROXT's in the center. You'll just have to make a spanner to connect the two light tabs then drill for the exta studs in the lights. I had this on my last truck (chebby?). The guard horns on the Dodge one are wider than the Chevy.

I have a set of PIAA 520's on my guard so if you know how big they are, you should have plenty of room. Otherwise let me know and ill measure the distance for you. I am quite sure they are using the same center piece for all there guards. It would seem strange that they would make a completeley different center section for the style of guard you want.

John, have you seen the TJM bumper/brushguard. It is a very stout unit, made out of alum. so it is light. It works with airbags and you can put a winch in it. They are better known as Ausse Bull Bars. Their web site is www.tjmproducts.com. au. The one that is made for the Dodge is the T-1.

lgibson, I was VERY interested in the TJM T15 Bull Bar setup (a. k. a. Aussie Bull Bar) after I saw it on Wade Hogg's Ram at Dyno Days in Oct. '99. I really like the polished aluminum although, the gloss black powder coat finish of the Smittybilt Outland brush guard would look a lot nicer on my black Sport (IMO). One other note, the TJM T15 has a max. winch rating of 8k lb. if memory serves. I don't think the steel version of this setup would be to my liking as it would probably be quite heavy.

The problem I have with any of these add-on brush guards is bumper attachment... I don't have much of the top of my bumper left after adding the '99+ Sport grille. Hmmm.
