I was talking to my uncle today and learned a couple new things about my truck... .

1) The first injection pump failed under warranty, and the second pump was not the stock pump. Any ideas which pump the dealer would put in there? He said this one is a little smaller he thinks... .

2) There is a crease in my exhaust pipe by the transfer case, I already think I no the answer and you probably no tha question... . what detriments will this have?

I told him today about TDR and showed him some stuff on this comp, he's never had a computer. I showed him tha magz that came in the mail-he was all intrigued- BUT I could really tell, that if he had a computer and knew about this place I would probably not own a CTD rite now... . SO, I'm happy as HEdoublehockeysticks that he never found you guyz! :) ;)

CG,

I had my truck by the Cummins shop last year and the guy showed me that my injector pump had a Mopar tag on it. He said it had been replaced, as it should have had a Bosch tag. Don't know if this is true, but that is one messed up pump.

:( :(

Mine has the Mopar tag too

Now what? What do you mean messed up, it seems to run good... . for now anyways.

reman VE

Mine has the Mopar Reman. tag on it too. Not sure when it was replaced. Probably will never know seeing how I bought the truck used.

She's been running great so far.

:)

No worries, dude. It's just a mopar reman.

As for the crease, it's increasing back pressure, slowing your turbo, and increasing EGT's. One of the first things you need to do with you truck is get an aftermarket exhaust, you'll be surprized at how much a good 4" mandrel bent system will do for your truck.

You need to get those gauges first for a baseline so you know what each mod does for your rig.

I'll second the motion of a 4" exhaust and gauges. It may not show on the dyno, but it will definitely show on the street. As for the pump, some of them had some safety recall issue or another. I'm not real sure what the deal was. I've had two of them with MOPAR remans/ dealer replacements. Were the MOPAR pumps new or remans? It would suck if they put a reman pump on under warranty- not that it makes a HUGE difference, but the principle is annoying.

do it my way for <$100

Or, if you dont feel so adventurous, www.bigexhaust.com has kits, turbo back for under $400. You can also buy the pieces you need, delete muffler, etc. I think Rip's is a little higher, but not much. If you are looking for a kit, figure about $400-425 plus shipping.

OR... .....

You can buy two 4" 90s, 2 45, and cut and weld your tailpipe (2-45s and a 90; other 90 for bottom of downpipe) as needed, then add some straight 4" pipe to go in between. I have a piece of stainless flex pipe to make the curve behind the DP, about 4ft straight pipe to the muffler, then I have to get the other pieces and make the tailpipe when I get the money. OK, I haev the money, just hafta turn loose of it. Other priorities.
