I just installed my PacBrake PRXB a couple hours ago, took it out on the road to try it out and was surprised by the sound. How do I describe this, it's more drumming that I expected. Sorta like a very muffled Jake brake on a big rig. The only reason I'm concerned is I had a heck of a time getting it aligned. I could have used more than my two hands to hold it in place keeping the flanges together between the brake and turbo. It came down to holding it in place with one hand while incrementally tightening the band clamp with the other. Give it a giggle to make sure it was still loose and the faces together, tighten some more. I'm just wondering if I should look for an exhaust leak or if this is the way they normally sound.

Start the truck, turn the brake on. Then feel around for leaks at both ends of the brake. If a leak is present, give the clamp a few more turns while its hot. If it still won't seal, just put a jack under your downpipe & remove the clamp. Put a piece of aluminum foil on the joint, then reinstall the clamp.
