Hello Out There!

Greg,

OK, prices stink, yep, that is true. 30 MPG, thanks.

Did you get your transmission fixed? What happened?

Fall PD Event

Gary,

Do you have any dates on when the meeting might be? I will be out of town the last two weekends in September.

I saw $4. 00 a gallon here for the first time over the weekend.

I bought a VW Bug this weekend. The truck will rest for awhile and come out on the weekends.

Vee Dub!!!!!!!!!!

Anthony,

Did you buy it as a spare? Does it hang out over the tailgate, or miss the fender wells on the bed?

It better have a manual, well, does it? How old? I used to see these clutches on a daily basis when I was in OH and working for Sachs, used to know the #'s off the top of my head.

OOPS, is it the OLD Beetle or the NEW Beetle?

Still planning, lots to get lined up, I'll keep you guys posted.

Gary.

1999 New Bug GLS auto 2. 0l.

Bought it just to save on having to by the $4. 00 diesel.

That ain't no Vee Dub Bug!

1. The engine is in the wrong spot, should be over the rear tires.

2. It has a RADIATOR!

3. The heater works!

4. Bet the A/C works too.

5. Bugs dave no idea what a scan tool is.

6. The engine don't "chirp".

7. The washer squirter ain't hooked up to the spare tire.

Got a bumper sticker for it yet? or one of those fake flowers on the dash?

I'm jealous, 30 MPG and parks on a space of a 12V oil stain!

I think I'm in the land of the Bugs, south San Francisco CA, back to SC tomorrow, fire up the HPCR and a evening camprife.

I twisted the old 2-pc billet input shaft like a candy cane before it broke. I have the new style 1-pc Sonnax Shaft in now. Hope it will hold up. Just need the triple disk TC to get back from DTT so I can get it all back together.

Just think the last time we listened to the engine knocking at your house was the last time I drove it. Can’t wait to see what else I need to do to fix that.

You mean the noise wasn't coming from the A/T? Ouch again.

I met a guy that works for Sonnax, glad their stuff has a reputation for you.

Well Gregg maybe this picture will make you feel a bit better. I didn't take it, found it on another forum but I have had a confirmation from a Ford service manager, yep, you pull the cab off to work on the engine.

MN, most famous ex Gov. his Honor Jesse V.

Mike,

We can keep you as a Long Distance Out of State SCTDR member! All LDOSSCTDR members get special LDOS status membership cards, proxy voting privileges and what ever else is in the closet.

How do you like MN, hows the job going, got chicken bog up there?

Should be lots of farmers with CTD's and one or two of the others.

Found any TDR nuts yet?

Job is going great. So far we love MN. Supposed to have another snowstorm this afternoon and tonight. Some places are calling for 12". Yes there are lots of farmers, but don't see very many of them driving CTDs. A lot of them are driving DMaxs. I do see a ton of CTDs everyday hauling campers from Indiana.

Yes, I have talked to a few members on the CB when we were making the final trip back up from SC.

You guys keep in touch. I'll have to let you know when we come down for a visit.

Any new gatherings coming up in SC? I am going to have my Biodiesel processor up and running this weekend and hope to have some fuel to burn. ;) Also anyone one the west side of the state know of a good place to get methanol at a good price?

Kyle

Kyle,

At the oyster Roast we discussed the possibility of an event maybe at John G's. place havent heard anything one way or the other. If somebody has an idea, put it up or send me a PM and let's discuss.

I'm still working on an event for this fall, got the boss's approval for a dyno, just need a little bit of great stuff to fall into place.

Mike,

12" of SNOW that's enough to frost your lockouts! Enjoy the snowmen with the kids.

Glad things are working out Mike.

Gary, I'm stuck in the outage at work until June 10th or so. I do have Sats off. Let me know about the next get together. Might even have a truck by then.

2008 Darlington Car Haulers Parade

The 4th Annual Darlington Car Haulers Parade was held last night. The route starts at the Florence Civic Center and at dusk starts the about 15 mile long parade to downtown Darlington to help kickoff the weekends Race festivities. This is the second year that I have been in the Parade driving one of our 5. 9L trucks for Perfection. We are a local sponsor for the parade. I talked to several locals that owned CTD's and dodn't know what TDR is. They left with a TDR flyer and stickers.

Lots of Nascar fans, kids and adults looking for stickers and stuff. My wife Linda rode along and did her best "Royal" wave to the fans that lined the route.

The team from CMT Trick My Truck was there signing autographs and greeting the fans. Kelvin and April Locklear, we'll hopefully be talking more about them a bit later.

Lots of horns, light parade and dedicated Nascar fans.
