Eggs and key jobs
I had a '95 bronco, mint, get keyed all around and a month later egged. The eggs left the chipped paint, and chipped the windshield right in my line of sight. They wanted $1,800 to repaint. I bought some time by carefully filling and over filling the scratches and chips with many coats of the brush touch up paint over the course of several months. Then I block sanded the area with #1200 paper and buffed it out and waxed it. True, it hurts the clearcoat, but I don't like to have to repaint a good vehicle, it just means its that much closer to the end. At least it came out ok, and as long as I kept it waxed it looked pretty good. I figured it buys some time until a real repaint is justified.
