I just did this conversion yesterday. I got the lights from Headlight Depot and the wiring harness from Daniel Stern. The lighting improvement is significant - very nice. The fit leaves much to be desired. The inside corner of the top of the light is almost tight to the fender and gets farther away as you move out. The corner light is tipped and doesn't line up flush to the headlight, either. Most people wouldn't notice it or care - most guys like us would notice it, though. I don't see any way to adjust it (tried already). I suppose it could be modified by taking it all out again and doing some fab work on the mounting holes or something else, but I don't feel like pulling the bumper again for awhile. I hadn't noticed this until I had it all back together. So for now, I'll accept it as you get what you pay for. I suppose genuine Mopar sport headlights fit and look much better, but they are considerably more expensive.

Yup! Same thing here. If it wasn't such a pain to remove and re-install, I think elongating the mounting holes would do the trick. It would give you a little wiggle room anyhow. Slap'em up on a vertical milling machine or just grind or file the holes. The lights are such an great improvement over the stock ones, I think I'll live with it!!!

I think the light output on lowbeam is as good or better than I had with the high beams before. And I just have the bulbs provided with the new lights in there right now.

So this morning I notice there's a little puddle of water in the passenger side directional housing (after noticing fog on the inside of the lense). On the Headlights Depot website, the second FAQ listed is this:



Q= I have installed them and the first rain that we had the right turn signal has water in it now. What can I do about it?

A= There is nothing wrong with the light. The moisture is coming in thru the old corner light socket gasket. You have a few choices get new gaskets or get some liquid silicone sealer in any auto parts store or home depot

and put it on both sides of the old gasket and then reinstall the socket, of course get the moisture out of the light with a hair Dryer.



They must have an ongoing issue with the right side directional to have this listed on their website so prominently. Kind of hard to believe that it's not some flaw in the light. It just seems too coincidental that it's one particular side that they mention. If the problem was the bulb socket seal, why just on the one side? I'll take a look at it when I get home and see if there's anything to their suggestion that it's the bulb socket seal. Anyone else have this happen with theirs?

Has anyone had a proble with the SUVLIGHTS harness? I just put mine on and the Dirver's high beam comes on in Low beam modes. The pasanger side the Low does not come on at all but the high comes on when High is selected.

Bet you didn't have to pull a massive 1/4" BuckStop bumper with a winch on it. That was a B-I-T-C-H#@$%!. And now I have harness issues#@$%!. Not bolting it all together until I figure that out.

Check out my post here. Was happy when I finally fixed mine correctly, but it was less than professional quality.
Not sure if it matters, but the four bulbs that you have in the truck have a total of eight filaments. When on low beam you should have for filaments burning which is one filament her lightbulb. When you go to high you will have the four highbeam filaments burning on the bulbs, UNLESS you have a brite box... Then you will have all 8.

Found the problem. The passenger side adapter plug had a bent pin. Straightened it out and no it is fine. I feel so stupid for the driver's side. I had the plug swapped. The 9004 was plugged into the 9007 bulb and vice versa. Swapped them around and wala, it works.

Wow, love the light output. Still need some fine adjustments on the aim but like I said, WOW. It is so noce to be able to see the raod in front of me again. It was to the point that i would not drive it at night. The only down side is when I need to replace a bulb it will be a PIA. Might just pul the headlight out a bit to do it. I don't think it needs the fancy hig performance bulbs either.

The latest Geno's catalog has a bright box that can be used to install sport lights on non sport trucks. I think it was $178 for the one that works the fog lights also.

The lighting improvement is great, i used sylvania ultras, but the low beams go off when high beams go on, is there a way around that? Also does anyone know the way to jump the 2001 relay so fog lamps come on? If anyone is looking they sell the same kit on ebay now, some people having issues with suv lights co.

Sorry for the dumb question... two harnesses are needed, right? Catalog page has two different P/N... one for left, one for right side?

I don't find it a dumb question at all, I believe two are needed as you will have 4 bulbs with Sport Headlights, low beams have a triple terminal type of plug and the high beams have a double terminal plug.



Notice the harness part number for the regular headlights is the same as one of the two part numbers needed for the Sport set-up.
