Yes thats right, i at first just bought the one harness, works good but the low beam light goes off on highbeam

I just today purchased the other one, it says you need both for this i guess, i will see how they tie together, at least their web site is up and running unlike suvlights.

I am hoping this will allow all four lights to be on when high beam is activated.

So I need 2, 55-9505 for the conversion. Correct? LMC catalog says one 55-9505 and one 55-9506, which is what I ordered
Are these made in USA? Nope, offshore for sure
What guage wire is used? appears to be 12 ga, maybe some 14

Mostly finished the install today, at least all the wiring, and was able to test the system. I offer some thoughts and notes below on how it went for me.

1. Lights. I went with the aftermarket lights from Headlights Depot off of Amazon. They are identical as those in the first post in this thread, and are made by TYC Lighting in Taiwan. They appear to be of good quality for what they cost - we shall see as time goes on.

2. Harnesses. As was covered above, many used the ones from SUV Lights. SUV Lights appears to be out of business, so that left me with choices of Stern or LMC. After reading of long delays in getting parts from Stern, I went with LMC because I wanted them on-hand for this week, which is "truck upgrade" week for me (on vacation). The harnesses themselves I would say are of reasonable quality given their cost and place of origin. Note that they do not contain a place for fuses - this is a serious design flaw!! With the kind of current all these headlights draw, you will have a for sure fire if anything shorts out in these circuits. I added my own fuse holders with 20A fuses in all four hot legs. Other than this, my lesser gripes are they could have been a few inches longer, and I had to add some loom for extra protection on one of them.

3. Wiring. The first point of confusion for me was what was the difference between those two P/N of the LMC harnesses??? First off, the package that the LMC harnesses come in offer very little to no useful information about how to wire and connect them. Next, I called LMC to try and find out and their answering person did not know the time of day, basically reciting what the catalog page says, and that noone else was available for support. After giving up on them for help, I spent many hours reading every forum and post on this subject I could find, and found a lot of interesting information which increased my overall knowledge of the Ram headlights saga, but nothing specific to understanding the LMC harnesses. I did read here and elsewhere of guys using two of the 55-9505's - I am still confused by that and what the lights actually do when wired that way . Next, I analyzed them side by side. The only fundamental difference between the them is, two of the three wires in the light sockets have the wires swapped, i. e. , the 55-9505 has the ground on pin "A", and the 55-9506 has the ground on the center pin "B". Hmmm, ok, what does this mean??? After studying several schematics I found, I noticed the 9007 bulb has the ground on the center pin. Aaa ha I thought, so that must mean the 55-9505 harness fires the 9004 bulbs, and the 55-9506 harness fires the 9007 bulbs. This seems to make sense, so I decided to start the installation and wiring.

4. Initial check out. I didn't put the new headlight housings back on yet, but I did install all the bulbs in the correct sequence... 9007... . 9004... . 9004... 9007. The lights go on so I know electrically, all is well. However, the initial test results still leave some confusion, and the fact LMC does not specifically indicate how these harnesses are designed to work doesn't help either. On low beam, it seemed both 9007s filaments (outboard bulbs) and one of the 9004 filaments (inboard bulbs) were lit (seems ok?). When switched to high beam, the second 9004 filaments lit (seems ok?). When switch back to low beam... . no change! I had to shut the lights off and turn back on for the second 9004 filaments to reset. Don't know if the relays are sticking or what.

If anyone using these LMC harnesses can offer any suggestions or confirmation of whether this is how they are supposed to work, I would love to hear it.

Are you using relays in the LMC harness? Four to be exact. If you're not using relays, you're putting too many amps through the factory wiring and can overheat the wiring and switch. Let me know if you need any more help. PM me and I can send you my phone number.

yes, each LMC harness has 2 relays and covers one light housing, 2 bulbs, hence, two harnesses and 4 total relays. They look like just like yours except no fuse holders.

I couldn't find anything about them, so I wasn't sure. Sounds like the relays are sticking. Might try some higher quality relays or a diode across the contacts.

I had relay problems as well they ship cheasy relays with these harnesses, you can pop the cover off the relay easy, I nailed mine with wd-40 and they worked better... . buy a handfull of relays for your glove box as well, I have ran through 4 of them in 3 years of use... . I have the SUV harness if your relays ended up behind the headlights by the batteries put a sandwich bag over them and zip tie... . I lost a couple to moisture getting into them..... still the best upgrade a guy can do on these trucks..... I upgraded my bulbs per Daniels suggestion it makes them even better!!

Peace, B.

Ok, I've been lurking around this thread for a while and I'm a little confused.

First off, my truck is dead in the water for night time use as my SUV Lights harness is dead so I'm in the market for a new harness or I'll have to resort to reinstalling my OEM single 9004 bulb lights.

My confusion stems from the conversations about the LMC harness. I understand that two are needed, but is that two per light, i. e. , you need two of each part number or 4 total harnesses?

Have you tried new relays and fuses? Checked the connections at the battery and ground. Chances are its one of those things. If something catastrophic happened like a wire burned or something, maybe need to be replaced. You should need two of the LMC harnesses, one for each side, if going with new. I would check the relays and all connections first tho!

Yes, you need (1) LMC harness per light housing... total of (2), and they are each a different P/N (see above in this thread).

First off, the driver's side burns through (literally) the resistor pack, that plastic box with a circuit card and three resistors. I've swapped out relays and checked all fuses.

For a while (after burning my last resistor box) I ran with just one light for low bean as the other does not work without the resistor. High beams on both worked. Now I get no low beans (either side) and high beams on one side.

I'm just really tire of the lack of reliability of this harness (installed in 2009).

I just got my new harness from Daniel Stern. I like it a lot-well made. It took about a week or 10 days, something like that, to get it from the moment I placed the order. They make it to order-those are not ready, on the shelf item. i will be installing the sport lights very soon too. I really hope you get it resolved, after all we are doing this as an upgrade to see better.
Hopefully you can get it repaired soon and again have your lights back.

ilianbg, I had email Dan Stern, but never got a reply. I should have my LMC harnesses on Thursday. I'll put them in on Saturday... here's hope they are better then the SUV harnesses.

sure sounds like a brite box kit... ..... suv harness is wiring and 2 relays per side nothing else.

Yea I have done many sport light installs and built my own harnesses and a few from suv lights when I had no time or inclination to build. SuV kept shrinking to the point I was meeting him in coffee shop parking lots to pick up a harness
