I just built my harness but haven't installed it yet. It took a few hours. A clear workspace about 3' long and 2' deep is nice. So is a comfortable chair. Most of the time is spent holding connections in place and shrinking/soldering them with the heat gun. I did mine on a TV table, sitting on the couch, which was less than optimal, but very comfortable.

I got this heat gun from Home Depot for $21: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Genesis-12-5-Amp-Dual-Temperature-Heat-Gun-Kit-GHG1500A/203656913 It's cheaper than Harbor Freight and worked well.

I had 2 boxed almost new pairs of Sport headlamp assemblies (spares for my "01 Kenne Bell'd 360 OffRoad Sport) that I cannot seem to find...free to a good home if I do.

Hi, an update - the better half says I gave a set to a local buddy a couple years, and apparently I should have a set left somewhere.

CRodi was the first to contact me about dibs, so when I find that set, they are his.

Anyone have the current Dodge P/N for the OEM sport lights? I tried ordering a pair from factorymoparparts.com but came up as no longer available using these p/n's 55077025AC and 55077024AC.
Would the units Geno's sells be a the better alternative to OEM?

I see where I went wrong, these p/n's are for the earlier 2nd gens. the p/n's for the 2002 Ram 2500 should end with a G instead of C but are listed at $232 each vs $161 for the none existant older part number.
How are the Geno's units working out for those who went with them? I have seen posting with mixed results.

I haven't seen Genos version but none of the copy cats I have seen compare with the pens but neither does the price. I guess you have to decide what you expect for your money. I put the oem on mine and never touched them again(1999)

If you want to cover the lens and not have this problem again find a XPEL vendor near your. I had it installed on the fog lights only.

I am running the Depo's from Geno's, fairly cheap Chinese knock offs, BUT Depo is probably one of the better non OEM suppliers. a set lasts a few years, just changed to my second set. Having said that, the OEM's where going bad at the time I changed to the first set of Depo's, so nothing lasts long. I have experienced the same yellowing and going bad on everything from my VW Jetta to the Class 8 Volvo truck I was in for awhile, unfortunately the UV seems to be hard on plastic headlights.

At the price point for Geno's, I think they are worth it, even if you only get five or so years out of a set.

Thanks for the info, I will likely go with the Depo brand from Geno's, as the cheapest I could find the 2002 P/N OEM's is $224.00 each if they even have them.
I'll get the Depos' ordered then purchase the parts for the harnesses. My task today is changing the APS as soon as my shop warms up this morning.

I installed those on my truck a couple years ago.I used relays and came off the battery. Good lights, but moisture tends to get inside the light housing...Robert

Old thread, BUT my second set of Depo's are starting to go from UV exposure, only about three years on this second set, the rubber welt is shot too, IMO the Asian knockoffs are not nearly as long lived in UV as the OEM plastic lens. Thinking of going to OEM sport lights, except all normal channels seem to have dried up. I know I will pay considerably more for OEM, however they seem to be unobtainium for any amount of money now? I have found the individual OEM lens assemblies, BUT NOT the entire drop in bucket, reflectors and turn signals. Question is, if I found an old set of sport lights at the junk yard, how hard would it be to graft new lens and turn signals on? One part at a time sport lights if you will, which will likely be a spendy proposition! I wonder if the Depo assemblies could be taken apart and OEM Dodge lens grafted on, probably not and besides that the Depo ones have garbage adjusting mechanisms compared to OEM. Just some ramblings about the dilemma I now find myself in trying to do what I should of done a few years ago, any thoughts about rolling my own or a source for complete OEM sport light assemblies in the NOS parts bin somewhere would be appreciated.

Edit to add this roll your own idea is up to around $700 for a pair of OEM sport lights, ASSUMING all the actual parts shown online are available! I found a used left assembly for $200 I could rebuild with new lens ($275) and a new right assembly for $232, that is $707 + S&H, ouch!

Hi Shelby - too bad about your Depo lights - Mine are still like new, but I know you put lots of miles on your truck. Since we moved up here to John Day area, I've only put about 15,000 miles on the '02 - about 1000 miles per year, 91,000 miles total! I have the Depo sport lights both front and rear - and to be fair, I've seen LOTS of the OEM headlight lenses on of the same year as ours, so fogged up with haze I don't know how the owners could even drive at night. :-laf
