I have a squeak that sounds like it is in or under the dash. It sounds like the old speedometers when the cable was dry. Has a very metallic sound. Any ideas?

I just found my noise. It wasn't a squeak but a metallic rattle. It was a screw that came loose from the overhead trip computer. The screw fell down into the light lens and was driving me crazy. It sounded like it was coming from the passenger door. Hope you find yours. The Infinity sound system solves most noises at say 20-30 volume. That's why it was only a concern when the wife was with me. For a while I thought she was causing the rattle.

I've also got a squeak/rattle that I thought was coming from the dash, but I've isolated it to the overhead trip computer. I just haven't had time to take it down and figure out what is wrong with it. Maybe mine has a loose screw in there also? Thanks for ther tip.

Mine was under the driver's side dash. There is a bracket that "supports" the underside of the dash pad. It angles aft. I was able to tighten the horizontal bolt. The upper bolt did not need to be tightened.

Not certain if your year has the same bracket.

TradedV-10foraCummins, To get the overhead off you need to gently pry off the lens for the map lights at the pivot end. It's kinda scary cause you don't want to break them, but it's the way you gotta do it if you had to replace the bulb. The book tells you to undo screws from the sunglass holder, but my Laramie doesn't have that. So the screws are under the lenses. The back of the overhead just has clips. Pull down on the overhead to remove.
