Does anyone know if you can sucessfully stack chips on an 02 Dodge?? I currently have an Edge Drag Comp with 150 HP injectors. Can this be done without having problems???

most boxs do one of two things... Add timing, or add fuel. If you are adding timing with one, you wont want to add more timing. Beings your comp box does both timing and fuel, your kinna stuck with that, other then the smarty. Some people get away with stacking a superchip tuner and an edge, but others dont. it worked for me until dodge messed with my computer, and now i have to send in my superchip so it will work again. I will find out when i go dyno if it does add anything or not...

You can stack certain "chips" and have it work. I have a "special" CATCHER (pre-SMARTY) that was designed to work with my Drag Comp. You can also stack electronic devices if one controls additional fuel and one controls timing. Like KKlingbeil said, with the Drag Comp, you already have both unless you want to not tap the pump wire and use another box for that feature. Otherwise, stacking a timing controller with another timing controller is usually not the best idea.

Ok thanks for the input. I've just know of a couple Dodges that had stacked chips in them but then again I don't know what they had either. I tried stacking a superchips with my drag comp but the only the effects I got was a ton of smoke!!! Not really any power gains that I noticed just tons and tons of raw black smoke. . Which was actually kinda cool in a way!!! I'm just not sure if it didn't have enough air or it just was doing anything...

You mean using both does not give it more HP?

Probably not. They are both trying to do the same job with the injection pump. used separately they both produce about the same power output only the Smarty does it is such a way that the throttle response is noticeably improved.

Would the Smarty posibly get rid of the shudder or bucking that I get sometimes? Seems to be worse in cold weather.

So you would have to have a pump wire tap box then is this right?

When I have the Superchips programmed into my truck it bucks and shutters in 5th and 6th gear. Also when the truck is cold it doesn't wan't to start... If I unprogram it all is fine. . Never had or currently have that problem with Edge Comp. . What's the deal?

I ran dd3 injectors edge drag comp stacked with a banks otto mind for a year and had no problems both had pump wires tapped and both addedfuel and timing with a hx35 this did a dyno of 440 hp and 940 lbs trq I sold off the stuff for the smarty and it is stacked on the next guys truck with no probs. it did make a diff wich one was pluged in to wich one!

and yes it did run hot! but ran cooler when stacked?

I have run a V/A box stacked with my Smarty on #8, no problems at all. I was even going to stack a Blue Chip FMS that I had with the Smarty and Van Aaken but this set-up will have to wait.
