Seafish... . you only get a 5% increase with a ss tip. Try having it dynoed in reverse on a day with the ambiet air temp below 36. 6 deg and the wind out of the sw at 10 knots. The results are amazing. I got 15% and am thinking of going to dual exhaust for 30% increase.....

Actually I am going to drill it out , like performance brake rotors, to dissipate the heat build-up more quickly, as well as lower the back pressure... I figure I'll get at least another 2-3% increase that way. The Duals are a great idea though... I did'nt realize that they would actually double the efficiency gains of a single exhaust tip, but it makes sense to me!!! :-laf

Wow, where did you get your tip at, I want a couple too !!!Oo.

My Stainless exhaust tip turns a not so attractive shade of brown, I polish it back, same thing happens after a few hundred miles, any ideas how to avoid this ?, I may just paint it gray and forget the thing is there.

Mine does this to, except mine looks more like light gold color. Its from the exhaust heat. I use my truck to tow our 5er almost 100% of the time, so my EGTs are always in the 800 to 1200F range for long durations.

If you read the Geno's catalog, they recommend a chrome tip for 2007 and up trucks (due to high exhaust temps).

A more restrictive muffler may help dissipate some of the heat before it gets to the tailpipe.
