Stalling, Need Help

New Problem or Symptom of same Problem?



Now when I down shift into 3rd gear and try to accelerate, I will get the accelerator about half way and nothing and then all of a sudden it just takes off . This doesn't happen every time though.



As far as using ATF to clean out my fuel system I have been using B20 Biodiesel for some months now. And as far as I know B20 is suppose to keep the system really clean.

Please Don't! If ATF was a good thing it would be in the fuel allready. ATF is not a good fuel additive, it can actually gum up your injectors and cause problems with your injector pump, not a good idea, stick with a good fuel conditioner, like a stanodyne product, or even valvoline has a cummins endorsed fuel conditioner you can buy at an auto parts store. ATF in diesel fuel is an oooold school thing, even before the dinosaurs we like to call our trucks. Get rid of that bio-whatever stuff also, that could be part of your problem, don't really know, but I like to stick with what works. Anyway your third gear problem sounds strange, maybe that bio-whatever fuel, I don't think it's related to your solenoid problem, maybe the injector pump, or linkage, when you say "all of a sudden" is the truck stumbling or what, need more.

The ATF thing was recomended to me by a Diesel Injection Service shop and it worked. I did it at 230,000 miles and never had the stalling problem again. I sold the truck a few months ago with well over 305,000.
