1996 ctd has been setting for about 6 months and will not start. Just put new batteries in cranks fine but will not start. pushed priming button several times still wont start.

Loosen the banjo fitting on top of the fuel filter housing while you're using the priming button. Keep going until you see fuel starting to come out. Once that's done, if it still doesn't start, crack the injector lines to see if you're getting fuel to the injectors.

Reach in and pull up the fuel shutdown solenoid up manually with the ignition key on, after pulling the rod up, try to start the engine with the key. My 95' will some times require this after sitting for awhile. It's just getting old and stiff.
