Stereo radio upgrade

My 05 came with the HK premium 5. 1, 6CD AM/FM I would like to know if its possible to update with a newer one that excepts an AUX input and possibly an XM option. I miss the XM formats and would really like to tether my phone or Ipod to the AUX in as well. The after market devices I've seen and heard others try just don't cut it.



Thanks in advance to anyone knowing if its possible w/o going to a whole lot of trouble and or extensive mods either to dash or ECM.

crutchfield has ipod adapters, that work well... non of the radio frequency junk that causes interference... .

Do you have the same stereo system and if you do, have you purchased a product from Crutchfield that works and which one ?

I upgraded my premium system in my 06 3500 to an alpine IVA unit that has the GPS, bluetooth, XM and aux device connections that works great. My stock gps sytem went defunct to prompt the change. I've been pretty happy with it overall.
