2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Still pulls right........

I have the dreaded "pulls right" problem I've read others have had. My alignment tech. said replace upper ball joints and and then an alignment. After that... ... still pulls right and still has mucho play in the steering. Guy sez "Bad tires. " So I get a set of four 265/75/R16 Pathfinder A/T's. Still pulls right and has sloppy steering. Before I throw any more $ @ this problem does anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Hey soot, I went throught the dreaded right pull problem right out of the box. Mine was finally solved by replacing the brake callipers in the front. Start out cold in the morning, go 10 miles or so, get out and feel the rotors with your bare hand... . bet your right one is significantly hotter than left... . thes a potential drag causing you to go right.

Try this. Remove one link to the front sway bar.



Mine pulled to the right, I made adjustments till I got it to go straight, but it wasn't quite right. I wasn't sure what /why it was like this. Then, witha sore neck, I decided to remove a link on the SB to get a little better ride.

Now it slightly pulls left!!

This explains the camber/caster settings I needed to get it to go straight.

Does your Alignment guy do 4 wheel alignment to see if the front end is tracking parallel to the rear end. These trucks have No adjustment for the track bar. So if the ride height is not right the front end is off to one side or the other which makes the truck pull one way or the other. Thats why some of the trucks came from the factory with a spacer plate under one of the front wheels. Cheaper to put a plate under the wheel then putting an adjustable track bar on.
