Maximum LP Pressure

Cummins Plus Allison

Just wondering what I can expect as far as driveabilty and power are concerned? I've pretty much made up my mind as this is the turbo I want. How much cooler will egt's be and how much more power. Mods in sig... TIA... :)

You're gonna like it. It's not the fastest to get up to 15 psi, but once it gets there, hang on. It takes off for 45 real quick. I like it a lot. I have some things hurting me down in the low rpm range. Once I get that straight, it's going to be lots of fun. Oo.

yea what he said above me, it takes a little getting used to at first, but you will love the turbo no questions asked... once it gets to 12 psi or so hold the **** on cuz its a rocket. . i hear 3rd gens spool it better than mine will but there is one thing i know industrial injection is a hell of a company and make a great turbo. .

Cholman may be able to help you better than i. . pm him

When I installed mine I noticed that it runs at a lower boost psi while cruising 70. Where I ran 6-8 before, now I run 3-5 most of the time. Also the EGT's are higher at cruising speed. Before 650*ish, now 750-800. Which makes sense. Less boost= higher EGT's. It's a great turbo, you will like it.

Randy

did you replace the exhaust manifold as well?

I replaced my stock manifold with an ats 3 piece when I put on my silver 62 and now experience the same lower boost and higher egts as RDyson while cruising, but at that speed any throttle at all and 30+psi instantly.

What they said above me about cruising temps and boost. However loaded and towing I noticed an approx drop in temps of 200*.

Which should equal out to what... . say 3 steps on each side of the TST box to get back to where you were before? :D

Can someone explain why there is less boost at say 70mph? If I'm able to see 1600 egts, what would this turbo lower that to? Sorry for the stupid questions, I just getting more confused...

OK, maybe this is easier. All other things being equal (boxes, programmers) Going from my stock turbo to the SPS62, how much will that shave off of my 0-60 times or my quarter mile time?

My Truck and set up now spools better than it did with the stock turbo. The SMARTY and TST stack is great, now my issue is fuel, but that's going to be taken care of here shortly. I know that sounds crazy, but I'll swear up and down it spools better... Maybe someone else will chime in and give their input on the SMARTY SPS62... I'm all :D

To do 70 mph requires a certain amount of fuel. That fuel requirement doesn't change when you change turbos. A turbo that can flow more air under WOT and high RPM conditions usually doesn't make much boost at "cruising" speed. Therefore that same amount of fuel is getting less "extry" cooling air with it (boost) hence higher EGT reading.

EGT numbers are pretty much meaningless at "cruise" and idle--unless something is terribly amiss.

Wow, You will really like ths sps 62, I think this is by far the best overall turbo for performance and towing in my book. I really believe you can not go wrong here. It is an excellent choice.

just my . 10 cents worth. .
