Strange Michelin behavior?

I'm really liking my Bridgestone R500HD's so far.

I put R500HD's on my 2001.5 before I sold it. Most likely will go 100K miles, however bit slippery on wet roads.

Lost one of my Mastercraft's already, 20k on them. I just rotated them 2 weeks ago, so 4/32 on the front and 6/32 on the rear, lost the left front. When I hit the highway from a rocky off highway road and got up to speed I could tell something was not right. As I was looking for a wide spot it blew out, sounded like about a 20 psi bang. It had a rock in the face so it was leaking and low before it blew. I had one of my saved Michelins installed for now. I am hoping I might get another 4 or 5 k.

The tire store said he will give me some prorated mileage credit based on a 50k tire when they reach the wear bars. Looks like Hercules AT type will be next, rated 60k, same tire as the ones we installed on the '91.
