Off Roading Which Winch??

Competition World Record

Forget the danforth anchor, get a bruce. They hold much better on a muddy bottom so I don't know why they would not hold better on a muddy bank.

They also look alot like a pull pal only smaller. .

Pee Wee, sorry I mean AZ. You need to drink more beer, that belly of yours needs work. I'd say about 100,000 12 oz curls will do it, then you will look like a real CTD owner :D

And how come you're smilin' so big? If that were my truck I'd be cussin' and workin' and sweatin' up a storm. Ahhhh youth!

It reminds me of the time when I was 17 I pulled my Mom's car up onto the lawn to wash it right after the spring thaw. Yup! Sank right down to the axles! Luckily I just went and got the Massy-Harris and pulled it right out, but Mom wasn't too happy about the ruts in her lawn.

I know teh feeling of being stuck. i just have a 2wd. The Draw-tite hitch with a big 4wd John Deere tractor sure does come in handy.

God there would have been some serious ruts there if it was me( No road slicks here). Or on the otherhand it would have sunk up to the door handles. Eather way if your going to do something (get stuck) over do it right!

PS... last time i was stuck in my old Toyota (81 with 351 ford power and 36" gumbo mudders) it took two toy's one jeep and a 80 chev with a 12k warn to get me out. :--)

When it comes to getting stuck I'm a pro. Not a good subject with my wife. I've gotten 4x4 combine with 44 inch wide terra tires buried so deep that the sickle was in the mud with the header all the way up, Buried the the 4586 International 1 time where we hauled pickup loads of concrete bocks for 6 hours to put in the ruts and drive over till I got it out, Burried the same tractor once and shucked out both final drives on a TD-15 Dresser dozer getting it out. Dozer had a new Cummins motor @ 170 hp and we'd pull it down till it would kill it, but finally "twisted " the tractor out. Burried the 5020 John Deere in 'quick mud' disking and got a wide track 850 JD Dozer to pull it out. Ended up sunk till the floor board on the tractor was level with the ground. Broke all the big ropes we had so we ended up wrapped a 5/8 alloy chain from LaCleded Chain around the frame and pulled front end around sideways to twist it out of the ground. Burried the FL 9 Fiat allis Track Loader to the top of the tracks and ended up took the backhoe over and dug a hole and parked the hoe in it and used it for a deadman to hook to ( It pulled the hoe up to the bank of the hole and it couldn't move any more) and curled the bucket and rehooked the chain till it came out. Hauling Lime I had one of the tandem trucks sink to the bed where a creek bed had been filled in. Called a buddy to bring his OSH Kosh wrecker to winch me out and and he told me it would come out in peices If it wasn't unloaded so hand shovel 17 tons of lime off. Still sheared off both tow hooks on the front end pulling it out and got a crease in the hood from the chain. Did the same with the Ford dump trick and a load of rock. Just a few.

Cool idea... bury the spare tire and winch yourself out. So... I guess... we should all drive around with the winch already attached to the spare cause the truck will bury it for us... saves a lot of effort. Wait... wouldn't that fold up the truck like an armadillo?
