no idea why. when i had my def pump replaced the ram dealer filled up my def tank with windshield washer style bottles of def. they were new with the foil seal on the top. shocked that the greenies arent up in arms over the def containers wrapped in cardboard.... cheers!

Go to Walmart, plus it has a real date, not a code.

What brand is that? Any boxed def I’ve seen has a plastic container inside of it, like the Walmart one posted above but clear.

I have only found one def pump in Anchorage so far $5 a gallon. Essential 1 it’s behind the Diamond Costco on King street. Diesel is $5.20 and gas $4.70 I’m saving a couple sturdy empty plastic gallon jugs up to maybe take on our late summer trip south this year

Just be careful it has a shelf life . I don’t keep much around , I buy it when I need it , mostly just when I travel do I get a fresh jug to have on hand .

Pretty crazy that diesel in Anchorage is $5.20 and here in CA 30 miles from three refineries it was $6.89 today.

DEF is light sensitive, it degrades faster then.
Colored plastic can is probably more expensive then bag 'n box. And you can stack them better to.

We have two refineries in Alaska but much is shipped in also. I think your road tax is much more. 9 cents a gallon like really low here

How many miles for your trip?

Id expect a range of 3500-4000 miles out of a tank with your setup. Surely in there you can find a pump and not have to carry DEF.

Yes def in Whitehorse and Edmonton. You can only carry so much stuff right. But I will bring my long funnel

Every fuel station along the road that has Diesel and a Shop sells DEF.
Every Semi workshop also.
There is absolutely no need to carry DEF around.

You need to carry at least one jug unless you want to spend big bucks. Shops and convenience stores are high dollar.

I don’t think so, the range is so great that somewhere will have DEF at an acceptable price along a trip.
