Baiting

Come on Sledpuller. I know your post was in fun, but it could look like baiting. Personally, I've seen one too many pom-poms already. It was fun for a while . . . .

We all know there is no "right" answer for everyone. There is a "right" answer for each individual user. S/he has to figure out what's "right" for them based on vendor marketing/input/information, customer testimonials, and seat-of-the-pants experience if they can find trucks to demo.

No baiting needed here guys - in fun or otherwise.

Keep it on topic and technical, please.

cmonroe--at May Madness last year did you guys dyno, did you drag race or sled pull----it was said that you guys had removed your "stuff" before you came-that's what I'm talking about-just didn't make sense to me to post all your #'s and then take the "stuff" off before one of the bigger events of the year-the dyno thing was when you guys posted some HP that you guys did on your dyno or some dyno close by to your shop and then it couldn't be duplicated---those are the things I'm referring to--

since then I know you've entered more events--don't recall you guys winning several events, but hey I don't read every thread either, so belated congrats to you for your wins---

really though what about the pulse lock up thing you do electronically, or does someone have things mixed up--just set us straight on how you do it ---chris

Yes I made about 20 runs at May madness Chris, and I won the Mud drags. I did not make it in time for the dyno runs for the same reason I may not make it this year. It would make more sense to me to have the dynos on Friday and the drags on Saturday. An event in the middle of the week is difficult for many of us to make. I did not remove anything off my truck as there was not much on the truck then. Mike did not bring his truck last year, but he is this year. Clint had to fly both ways last year for time restrictions, but his truck or trucks will be there this year. All I can tell you Chris is we make alot of changes to all of the trucks consistently testing new technologies, most work but lets face it some don't provide the gains one would expect. As far as taking things off the trucks, I have no idea who started that rumor, however it was not anyone here. As far as not duplicating the dyno numbers that was just one truck. We will see you in May maybe this time you will have a better understanding of ATS.

cmonroe--ok---you guys just didn't bring the truck--that's understandable---I wasn't there for the Muddrags--don't remember why now--I'm not sure I even heard who won them--maybe I did and didn't put 2 & 2 together, sorry----I understand about changing things in the trucks to get the most out of them and testing---word was you guys took the stuff out before you came-didn't make sense to me as you guys were coming on the circuit, if you will-rumors--ok end of story on that note----

what about the electronic pulse lock up---do these customers that are stating they have this device, do in fact have such a device in their trucks, how long have they had the device in their trucks----please clear this up----chris

Chris, late congrats on your wins last year as well, and sorry someone misinformed you on the removal of parts. As far as the auto stuff goes I don't know enough to comment on the question you asked. I do not work for ATS I'm just a customer. See you in May.

ok--will the ATS owners clear this stuff up once and for all-Clint or Don--I can never tell who is a customer for ATS or works there

what's the dirt on the electronic pulse lockup shift thingy---does it exist for the Dodge Cummins Turbo Diesel with the automatic transmission---a simple yes or no will do for now---be prepared to explain if you say yes---if there's no answer I guess all will believe that it never did exist and a few people (your customers) are misinformed-----chris

Now you have all gone and dunit. I ordered a 2003 yesterday with a 6 speed. I have not had a stick in any truck fro over 20 years. If I get leg cramps:eek: its all your fault. #@$%! :-laf

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I was growing up automatics were for the old fogies. What happened? My Goerend auto works fine but if I ever buy another truck it'll be a 6 speed also. It doesn't matter how great the automatic shifts or transfers torque, the advantages of two extra gears that all transfer 100% of the torque more than make up for it.

Cmonroe, the MM03 Dyno Days will be Thursday and Friday at Silver State Motor Sports at the Las Vegas Speedway. The drags will be at the speedway on Friday night.

An auto is faster no matter how you slice it. And I couln't imagine rowing in the middle of Seattle traffic. Thing would be totally different if this wasn't my daily driver. :p ;)

Personally I prefer to buy American when the choice of quality is equal even if it costs a little more no matter what the product.

So what is buying American? Are our Dodges American..... Some are assembled in Mexico. What about all the parts that go into our trucks? What about the fuel we burn to get our vehicles down the road?

There are many examples of products made in countries other than the USA but are sold here as USA products. Take Suncoasts lockup controller its manufactured by ATG in canada, sold to them for $69. 00 Canadian and then resold as Suncoast for #246. 00 US.

Now back to this pulse code thingy, any word on how it works?

I'm sorry this is taking so long guys, I am at work and will be on my way home in a couple of hours and I will post then. Again, sorry for the delay.

The choice of quality is often not equal, no matter the product. In regards to aftermarket transmissions, they definitely do not work the same, and are not built the same. Consumers, potential transmission buyers, should do as much research as possible before buying.

As for buying American, Canada is part of the North American continent. :D It's not as if we were buying our diesel products or trucks from North Korea or Somalia.

Do we really have to go here? Like there isn't enough fighting over automatic trannies now something else has to be pulled into it. This is way off topic from the original question asked on here. Let's get it back to the technical discussion and stay away from this emotional stuff PLEASE!

OK... you DTT guys, sharpen up your knives... here we go... Don’t worry, I’m tough I can take a few hits.

Q. Does the Emjay Controller for the 47RE “Pulse” the TC Lockup in the Dodge? Ans. Nope

Q. Does the present ATS TripleLok Commander for the 47RH “Pulse” the

TC Lockup? Ans. Nope

Q. When Rausch bought his ATS Stage IV a year ago, did ATS have a

Digital Controller which would send a “Pulse” signal. Yes!

Q. Did it work? (Since I wrote this I spoke with Clint. ) Ans. --Yes! It worked well. But They found it wasn't necessary, as they could do the same thing with orificing the valve body, thus taking care of it hydraulically. There was no real advantage to having the controller "Pulse" it.
