well it happened!!! took a lil cruise up to colorado this weekend and on the way back, i noticed a pinging and white haze and a burnt oil smell... oh ****. . well i get home and sure enough the turbine blades are contacting the housing and it is leaking oil from between the housings :{ :{ :{ . i love (d) this turbo and have emailed II about my troubles. . wish me luck boys. .

i bought it in june, thing is i bought it from a guy here on TDR so i dont know how they look at that kind of thing as far as workin with a guy... :confused:

no sir!!! this is only my second!!! :D anyway i am curious to see what is the cause of failure?? but hey i have your favorite turbo back on! :-laf

no no i made the shaft on my HX-35 a two piece :-laf . and yea i put the jammer back on, and now that i am used to a lil more lag it reallly isnt that bad. . but it doesnt pull NEARLY as hard as the SPS 62 :{ . its in the mail though Brady was very curious and i hope everything works out well. i miss my 62 :{

Keep us updated I have a 62 and hope I dont have the same demise

i highly doubt it, the people i know and have talked to with this turbo have had nothing but good experiences, i know i have. . i figure this is a fluke and i just got a bad turbo for one reason or another, i put this thread here as an info only type thing in no way am i knocking the turbo or II... now if you wanna start talking about the Jammer BB thats a different story... :-{}

I hope it works out good for ya there buddy.

Finally run 13's and the turbo explodes!!!!! :-laf

Just dont blow up the jammer in the meantime or you can sell it!! thats why it was at my house so long, cause I knew you would need it eventually!!!!

I'm keeping some spare parts for him too, whenever I upgrade I hang on to the stock stuff for a lil bit. just in case. :-laf

Ive changed mine 6 times since july!!! Only 3 different turbos though... .

You get really good at it after a while. Last time only took me about 35 minutes.

My SPS62 failed after 1000 miles, Shane at II said the thrust bushing failed on the compressor side???. He said he has never seen anything like it before and was partially convinced that I was running a set of twins and overdriving the sps62 with too large of a secondary charger. Not the case.

At any rate he sent me a brand new turbo to replace the original, they are very fair to work with and "Good" customer service. As soon as they credit my account back for the second charger I will upgrade their rating to "Great" :-laf . Jess
