Thank you Newsa. I'm going to add another three quarts and run with that for awhile. I'll keep everyone posted. Math was never my best subject.
_________________________________________________________________________________________________I don't understand why an owner would want to risk warranty and extended warranty. I can see TCDiesel doing it, but he has all the nessasary equipment to deal with issues as they come up, but for the average Joe, he does not. If you have a sensor failure that can cost a couple of thousand dollars that is under warranty, and they check your DEF, your warranty is toast. A buddy of mine just had his emmisions sensor replaced, (thats all I know about it) and it cost his warranty contract $1800.00, on his 2014 CTD. TC please post the process to clean the entire system out, and the recommended intervals.
Thanks.
As they should be liable. But I still would like to know the process to clean mine rather than risk warranty.
Could be I just don't understand how to calculate and it's driving me crazy. I am trying to calculate how much distilled water to add to a 2-1/2 gallon jug or def that is 32.5% urea reducing urea to 20%. I know I will end up with more than 2-1/2 gallons. Help with the math please.
The Math is not Critical Josephc1, DEF Is mixed by weight 32.5% you are adding by Volume 100% DW. Just to put you at ease I will pay $$$$ any issue's that your system develops even at 100% DW.
Also the residual left in tank is unknown... heck I've dumped 3 gallons DW at 1/2 tank levels already mixed with DW the concentrate had to be below 10%.
Thank you TCDiesel. This is all just experiment for my 2500 but I may run a 50/50 mix of def to dw. I don't expect any trouble much less any freezing here in Texas.
