2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission swap front brake calipers

I am finishing putting the 02 rear discs on my 98. 5 dually. I was wondering why can't I swap the front steering knuckles from an 01 or 02 to get the dual piston front calipers from an 01 or 02 and actually have some brakes that work? Won't these knuckles swap out??

If you have a 4wd, IIRC they changed the axle/knuckles in 00? and the Ball joints are reversed on the newer axle, so no they will not swap, unless you change the whole front axle assembly.



Not sure on the 2 wd stuff, however.

I have a 4wd and you are correct I guess I will have to be on the lookout for a complete housing. There is some talk of swapping on some ford stuff I may have to research that as another option. For a 1ton truck these brakes are just inadequate.
