I'm going to be doing a road trip with a packed truck and may have the kid sitting up front at times.

I know this isn't ideal, but if I do it I'd like to turn the air bag(s) off.

I suspect I could pull a fuse, but how about adding a switch, with an indicator?

I know the passenger one is huge, but how about the driver's side? I imagine it is wide enough to get a kid sitting in the middle.

If you check with the feds I believe it is against the law to disable the drivers side air bag, I am not sure of this but I heard it from a body shop & they said it was against the law. My 02 has a switch on the dash to turn off the passenger air bag. I hope that this helps you. Leave it to the feds.

Need to do a big search here. I put a switch from a reg cab truck in my quad cab. I had to get a letter from the Gov. The switch was easy to put in. The truck had to be "hit" with the scan tool to let the computer know it was there. This was for an 04. You really just need the switch and bezel and the scan tool to clear the code and make the switch work.

I no longer have time to rig up a switch.

Can I pull a fuse to disable pass air bag?

Yes, I 'll put a note on the dash to remind myself to replace it.
