Not being mechanically inclined, according to my Fuel Pressure gage, its about time to replace the 4th Lift Pump on my 01. (down the road 8lb, WOT 1-2 ) What I read the on the TDR the new and improved "in tank" DC fix has not worked out !!!! What about the relocation with the kit from GENOS garage? How it working? Which one should I get? The regular one of the Vulcan big line kit?

Take a look at the Glacier system in my signature. There's a pic of the install in my gallery.

Easy install, fast order turnaround, and Richard provides top notch customer service.

BTW, there's an excellent article on his site about the in-tank setup.

In your situation I would install the Vulcan Draw Straw in the tank. This would give you a nice unrestricted fuel flow from the tank. From there I would buy Glaciers pump and lines to the VP.

This would give you a solid 15psi under any load and if you carry a spare pump you can change it on the road in 10 minutes.

Guess I should have read your post a little better before replying.

This isn't that difficult of a job but does take a few hours. A tube cutter , to cut the fuel line, is about the only special tool needed and you would have to drop the tank if you did the "Draw Straw" install. Without the Draw Straw fix it becomes that much easier but I would take the extra time go that route.

I did the relocate the stock Carter to the frame deal last year and fabbed up my own brackets, moved the stock filter back too. Then dumped the Carter when it started to give the "heads up" it was on it's way out (#5 since I bought it w/75 k) and went with the Glacier 392 and 2 micron gilter set up.

Like the others I love the Glacer kit, tell Rich you want the big lines he'll set you up. I have a solid 18-19 idle and WOT of 16-17 w/Comp on 5/4.

The Vulcan draw straw is the way to go - it can be a bit of a chore as you have to drop the tank. But other than that it's not too bad - just run the tank down to E and by cycling your stock LP and placing a hose into a 5 gallon can you can suck out the remainder - except about a gallon or less. Go to my Readers Rigs - Joe Mc's 99, album Fuel Tank R & R for some pictures and verbiage on how things went.

What happens when you start screwing around with the old steel lines that come out of the fuel tank module is: they are rusty and brittle, you will end up moving them a bit and crack or kink one, next thing you know you either have loss of prime (due to air getting in the line) or a leak on top of the tank and end up doing the draw straw anyway. By the way the stock fuel tank module is about $300 or more - the Draw Straw is like $50 and a bigger supply line to the pump.

You will not regret the outcome. - MHO

Go with the GDP 392, I had the same issue as you on my 01. Put the GDP 392 system in last week and now pressure is 14psi at idle and 13. 5psi at WOT. Needle hardly moves (and it is functioning properly). It is a bit more pricey than just relocating the stock pump to the frame rail, but it is a whole lot cheaper than a new VP44. I did not do the draw straw, just the fuel line kit with the standard 3/8 fuel lines.
