QuickServe Updated

Hey guys.. i really need your help guys.. so my truck has nissan TD27 N/A engine.. i decided to turbo the engine with a TD04 4d56 turbo.. so my so called mechanic installed the turbo without the wastegate.. and now its overboosting on low RPMs and going back through the compressor.. it has a 2.5inch straight piped exhaust... i need your help to keep my turbo alive for a longer time.. any solution for me right now.. any help would be nice.. installing a wastegate now is out of the question.. installing a blowoff will it help me ? i dont think BOV can be installed in a diesel.. any help would be nice thank you guys :)

Welcome to the forums.

I'm going to move beyond the reasoning why you would install a turbo with out a wastegate or pressure relief of some sort.

You need a wastegate of some sort. BOVs can be installed on Diesels, but you need to understand how they work and how to integrate it to your application.

You put a non-wastegated turbo on an engine that is NA. Figuring out much pressure is to much for that application is going to be key to making it work.

You might have an easier time removing the turbo, installing it with its factory waste-gate and going from there. Measure twice cut once as they say.

Here is a nice write up on a different forum for a Cummins application. Also be sure to check out the search feature on the TDR forums, the archives are a great resource of information for questions and discussions that may have already been answered.

You're asking the question in the right place here, but this would be oddly specific information about that engine in regards to aftermarket performance trouble shooting I'd suggest looking for forums that focus on the engine; a topic like this may have already been covered.
