tell us more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

read plateless thread to see where piers reveals his new cam

Oh man, looks like I stoped reading that thread too early, thanks for showing us all Brandon. :D

Piers, come on now man, fess up!

Andrew

I just went a read all 9 pages of that thread to find where Piers mentions the cam. I wonder if I have to drive to BC to get one... heck I wonder if he makes one for a 24v??

I drove up to see Piers last week and he took me for a ride in his truck. Just when I thought his truck couldn't run any better. WOW

With the new cam ,the truck has better bottom end, lower EGT's

and less smoke. He hasn't had time to do alot of testing yet but from the seat of the pants it looks like it's going to be real nice. Piers said he is looking for someone with a automatic transmission to do some testing for him.

Oh really? :)

I'm running the marine cam right now and I hate it. I'd love to try something new.

Might have to give him a call.

So Dave what wrong with yer truck. I've been for a ride in your truck. It seems quite capable of testing a cam. I'll head up with you, and bring the video camera. Will take before and after measurements and photos.

Of couse I did voluteer mine, over in the other thread.

Chris,

Could you explain your reasons for not liking it?

Thanks,

Andrew

Strick-9

I was real close to going with a marine cam, Dave talked me out of it.

Was a good move, eh?

Looks like DD will be dropping their price if Piers has one now.

He shore is quiet though.

Sled Puller,

Yea, good move. I called EE when looking for a cam, and they actually recommended the marine cam as best for my application.

Apparently Dave and Doug have different viewpoints on cam selection.

TxKid,

I'm still testing different valve lash, to modify overlap and timing a bit. I'm not ready to give a full report yet. In short, spoolup is no better, power went down, smoke didn't decrease, egt definately didn't decrease.

What else matters?

-Chris

Did you have your engine tore the whole way down?

My pistons were already out, so that was no biggy to fly-cut them.

And I wanted high rpm.

Different apps, that covers a lot of ground.

Chris,

That's what I wanted to know, thanks.

Chris,

Dont give up on the marine cam. Keep thrashing away at it. It will increase power over the stock one. Some folks have picked up an honest 15HP over the stock 215 stick.

If I had a choice between the stock 215 cam and the marine, I would go marine all the way. Maybe you got the wrong marine part number???

Don~

I wanna test it!!!

My low end kinda sucks!!!

It would be good to go with his modified 160 hp pump.

As soon as the credit card is paid down i'm buying one of his pumps.

Just a month or so.

I wanna test it!!!

LOL
