Yep, fuel tank canister. Get the one with 1/2 suction to make it easier on the LP then 3/8's to OE filter housing and you will have to be big HP to run out of fuel.

Im trying to follow you.....
Only draw fuel at the in-tank pump location, is this what you call the canister?

Is the in-tank canister diff then the eng mounted pump canister? And this is the canister i want? =[eng mount]
Does OEM draw AND return all fuel from the inside of the canister?

Ill check with GDiesel.

I wish i didnt have the FASS... the in-tank pump is doing ok. I could sell it and yet i spent $ on wiring and... grrrr! Is Glacier's advice straight?

Hello again Wayne M! Yup, the FASS has a 150gph pump and spin on filter. It doesnt make sense to me why the dealer gave me this big a pump for a mildly moded VP truck. [i sold that truck but kept the pump] Well, maybe it is good to have the flow, i put a OEM replacement LP on my VP Ram when i took the FASS off and at wot the psi would go to about 2psi.... [75hp inj and a mild tune]
This Ram has way more power, prob close to 400rwhp.

Thanks guys! I have learned SO much. DO NOT JUST BUY WHAT THE ADS SAY!

:-laf I took to long pondering my responce! I need to call it a day, but i will dig into this and let you know soon. Plan on deer/bear hunting on sat!

Yes, the tank canister where all the lines for the fuel are is the canister.

The canister with an in-tank LP has the pump IN the canister and it will block fuel trying to draw thru it where the external LP canisters don't have that blockage but just too small lines for the FASS. If the FASS has to work too hard to draw fuel it will not last as long, give it as large a line as possible to pull fuel from the tank.

Definitely don't believe all the adds and advice form the vendors, they have a vested interest in selling parts and pieces. ;) Apply some logical thinking to the problem or info then ask if you are still not sure. That is what forums are for, sharing info and opinions.

Well, i picked up some parts for my aux filter this eve..... ;)
Planning to mount it in the Glacier Diesel location... almost done with a SS mounting bracket, so tomorrow ill put it on!
Any concerns about the in tank OEM pump with pushing through 2 filters? I have a liquid filled gauge on back order so then i can watch the psi.... but my filter will already be on.
What is oem psi?

How much HP can the OEM in-tank pump support?

On my FASS.... i got the OK to return the draw straw. So for now im thinking what to do next. Vulcan has a suction tube that goes through the canister on the 03-04 trucks.
Genos sells them. They also have a straw that works with the in-tank pump canisters, you need to remove the OEM pump, but it uses 3/8" hose while the 03-04 straw can use 1/2".

So my FASS is still on the shelf... maybe i'll sell it/ get a 95gph/ maybe ill put it on, i dont know. Maybe ill just run the OEM, It is quieter!
Thanks for your help!

The in-tank or canister mounted pump will support 600HP, But remember the GP will support 900HP+ it produces 25hg @1000rpms and pumps 120GPH @ 2000rpms.

I think my Air Dog 150 is overkill big time, if your not going to add lots of hp then yes the 150 size pumps are not needed. A 100 or 95 with the dual filters is plenty for most trucks. But, I guess it doesn't hurt either to have the 150 filtering fuel faster, its like a fuel polisher on a boat. But, all that bypassed fuel does foam and heat up more, so I would use a smaller pump if I did it over again since I decided to stay at near stock power levels.

Although we all like having room to grow, I just never felt the need to add more hp to my 03 daily driver when I kept my bombed 2nd gen too. I have a 2003 running stock power for many years with a 150 pump, no issues. To run the big pump you must put a larger draw straw in the OEM canister assembly. The return splices into the filler neck. With my set up I also have the factory return line in use too, I figured it would help when the tank was low on fuel. I have zero issues running the fuel tank to empty using a large straw in the OEM location, but I do have the OEM return working along with the needed filler neck return for that big pump.

It can hurt if your out-flowing the filters ratings. The highest rated f/w sep that fits the AD 150 GPH pump is only rated for 120 GPH.

Will it hurt? That's an unknown. At least it's better than the 20GPH filters that came on them originally!!!

I totally agree. The fuel needs time in the media to get cleaned up, and impurities to settle out.

I tested mine when I was doing a filter upgrade and with no filters and no restriction aside from the hose I got just under 90 GPH.

That ok?? :-laf
I have a boy who is learning to trap...
Ok , HERE it is=

I was disappionted at the filter head, the gasket touched one side of the base while the other was appox .1'' off. It sealed so i hope it stays!

Do my pics show with photo buc? Please let me know if they dont. Im not sure how else to post pics....

The gauge was out of stock, so that is why i used a tee. I went with a JIC fitting with a cap to use as a bleeder. Thanks WAYNE M for your helpful ideas!!

I am minded to sell the FASS.... this [oem] pump is so nice and quiet..... 600hp is a LOT! Im good with less :-laf
Thank you for the replies!!

Wow it looks GREAT! Got a friend with an automatic like yours. Now I can show him another approach. Please do tell about your muffler antics. What did you think of the sprint car spiral flow job? Posting pics is easy here especially with a smartphone. Just click on the little photo frame near the smiley.
I use the FF 5320. IIRC FF5814 is the better one with strata pore media. I'll be looking for that once my stock is depleted. My gauge was from Summit. The brass from discounthose.com.
