Just finished it today. Been waiting to get this fabricated and installed for months now. It sounds like there is a 747 flying next to my passenger window. I love it. What do you think?

i can't say anything about the EGT's at this point because my gauge is not working properly. I do know what my EGT was before and will check it after the gauge is fixed. I did notice a substantial decrease in intake air temperature. I also noticed an increase in power. I am able to spin the tires from arolling start now in third gear which i have never done before.

The entire assembly was made from scratch using stainless steel and then polished. The canister bracket is welded to the frame behind the fender. I used a telescopic stainless tube set up which is two stainless tubes that slide inside of each other and welded a 3" by 3" plate to mount to the frame. I then drilled and tapped the tube in three areas and installed three stainless screws and lock washers so that i can remove the canister at any time if needed. Here are a couple more pics:

Sure does look great and your results sound promising so far.
Does the canister have a filter in it?? or do any centrifugal separation??
On a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being loudest), how much louder is it then stock??

TIA

That's impressive to say the least, What are the precautions for weather conditions?

T, sorry i haven't gotten back to you. All my money went to this thing. I'll call you soon.

I drove it without a filter or piping in four rain storms and found four drops of water in it. It does have a very small hole at the bottom of the canister to relieve moisture and the bottom is pitched to the center where the hole is.

It does have a Fram filter and is sealed with a rubber gasket around the entire filter. I'm checking the piping, filter, turbo every day for dust when i get home.

As for noise, with the window up it is a 3, with the window down it is a 10. You hear a whistle the entire time and when you are decelerating you hear what sounds like the engine.

I was wondering when someone was gonna do that! Looks kinda silly at first... but ya know... . It really doesn't look so bad if you know what it is, and why it is there... At least he isn't trying to hide it by painting it the same color or doing some god awful pics on it. How much did it cost? - is my next question.

Thanks!!! Let us know when you get some EGT numbers.

ps---i LIKE the way it looks, can you give us a ballpark cost??

I apologize in advance... That is just freakin' awesome! Know what would be cool too? Build a setup like they used to put on the C. O. E. (cabovers). You already have stacks, how about the scoop above the back of the cab with a tube running down the back of the cab, through the bed floor, and under the cab to the engine. Any plans to give us a parts list, build sheet, parts locator, and price???? That is just too cool. You made my day!!!

I can tell you guys this... . I went for a ride in this rig last night and let me tell you it sounds INSANE! Thats as custom as it gets brothers... Definitly magazine material! I like it!

Thanks for the compliments guys. I really was not expecting too many people to like it. The cost was as follows:

Stainless canister: $450. 00

Stainless Bracket fab. and weld to truck: $200. 00

Fram Air Filter: $17. 99

Aluminum 4" 45 for intake tube: $16. 99

Aluminum 6' long 4'' pipe: $12. 99

4' Rubber elbow: $14. 99

A chopped up and welded AEM intake kit: $249. 99 (You could do without)

Misc. : $50. 00

TOTAL: Approx $1,000 not to mention turning your fender into swiss cheese. I would do it again:cool:
