Havnt decided on using a HT3b or a B2 or even a Big Brother as the bottom sucker? I've got modifications goin on with the oil pan now- ( for even more oil control upon launching from the line) I will keep everything posted on THIS Thread- because I'm not about keeping secrets.

I have done alot of work on this Turbo (B1-EX-4). It spools up quite nicely! ( when used as a single) but it will soon be joined up with a larger turbo; and I'll have mods done to that one as well.

Thermal Barrier Coatings work VERY GOOD!! Example: When I blew the Intake Impeller on a HX-40 that was also coated, I pulled into my driveway and went right to work removing it by the time I was done I had the turbo off in 20 minutes after I shut the truck down! Try doing that with a uncoated turbo- you'll have to wait at least an hour+ just to get a wrench near it cause of the heat coming off it. Not so with Thermal Barrier Coating, it doesnt allow heatsoak. Which in my opinion is CRITICAL to control. Even more so if you use your ride for the street. And I use mine to go to work in Manhattan 6 days a week- if you don't know about city traffic going out of the city( to N. J. ) it's bad! And I never had a problem.

Oh I have that one on the list but I have concerns of spool up. I gotta have a turbo that'll spool-up on the street but still allow me to have Max H. P. with a 24 Valve.

Roman- How are you making out with your project ? Did you get it welded up yet?

It's not a liteweight-fiberglass-truck, this units all steel! And H E A V Y! I sure look out of place in the staging lanes, but the people do rush out when I pull up for a pass. I know the norm is to use a regular cab single rear wheel truck for racing, but why? Best time with a single turbo- 12. 9 @ 104. 7 m. p. h. Not bad for a truck that size. And that was with stock parts inside the block ( cam-pistons rods ect. ) And absolutely no additives!!(-nitros oxide-water/meth) I cannot wait for this new build to be done!

More to come Roman! I'm not satisfied yet! New build should have me rockin' real good! !

As you can see I keep the non aerodynamic mirrors on and antennas on and mudders on ect. I race it the same way I drive it on the street NO CHANGES! Goes pretty good for 8300lbs.

This is the HX-40-16 Turbo that fragged the intake impeller on the compressor intake housing. The cause: 60,000 miles of abuse on the street and @ the track. But nothing for nothing it was a great street single setup. It propelled my big heavy truck to a 13. 39 @ 100. 41m. p. h. @ the track. For you newbies that are looking for the next step up from stock the HX-40 with the shaft bearing modification (oiling) is KING; (IMHO). Just make sure you send it in for service to that bearing- check your impeller for excessive movement, it should move a tiny bit but when it starts to get sloppy, service it!- or this happens:

Alot of time spent, but well worth it ! Also went into the wastegate dump area and spent some time there as well- Time well spent and the cost: FREE ( just time)

Think FLOW when blending ports- Don't get too crazy with hogging them out;

Blend for smooth transition from manifold to turbine- mark your gasket so when you bolt it all up, the gasket will be in its proper location and not lipping an edge into those opened up ports, again think flow. You wouldnt want all that work to go to waste because of a misalligned gasket that is disturbing FLOW.

Roman- How ya doing? How's that manifold coming along?

Due to the response I have been getting about pics- The answer to most questions being asked is:

I ONLY use JET-HOT MCCI COATINGS- The coating used on my engine is the Sterling Silver 2000 series coating.

Everything But the Manifold was coated @ JetHot. The manifold was purchased coated already.

The coating is very durable and has great looks. IMHO- instead of painting the parts with paint that only offers looks as a benifit(doesnt last as long); why not coat with a coating that offers a heat barrier-and looks good and will last. That way your engine doesnt have parts that are absorbing heatsoak.

But as a warning to you fellas- once you start coating parts, you start to look at OTHER parts to coat! It's that intoxicating!!

:{ Yet another reason to stress the importance of keeping check of the Turbo Shaft play- when my HX-40-16 went this is what happened with the bits that got past the intercooler- (look at the impacting on the piston tops)=

So RacinDuallie is that 24v goin in your black dually in the pictures? Is that truck at Englishtown and do if so do you go to the Diesel Truckin Nationals? I live in South Jersey in around Burlington County.
