I did notice it, why did you grind it? To just make it smooth? It would be a shame if it did crack. Might want to tig a plate over the area that usually cracks, that might be the best preventative maintenance.

Not that big of a deal.

Mr. Bentz & HOSS both are running 53 blocks.

1) To prove a point, and to deburr that sharp edge some.

2) Nope won't need no Heliarc job here.

Yes there is quite a few out there that run the 53's, some might say- we prefer them? There are plenty of 53's out there haulin' ***** at the tracks and on the street.

I'd like to hear about more 53's that have survived and haul ***** ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

Call me twisted but *I* personally wouldnt mind having a stockpile of them 53's-

And cylinder heads of BOTH Valvetrain designs (12 & 24valvers)

Close the doors and I'd be researching away... ... ..... :D

Mad Science:-laf ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...

My biggest problem with the 53 block crack is not the leaking water , but what is holding down that side of the block, and if all the load is in the bores then I believe that distortion is possible

:D Observations and findings--

These are the plugs that are in the intake plenum(stock)
The one on the left is from the front- one on the right is from the rear... ... .
Look at what information they have-

HMMMMMMMM
Looks like the flow is stalling out at the rear of that stock plenum- :{

I am wondering at the potential of our CTD with cylinders being fed a proper amount of airflow;)

Kind of like taking that 2 bbl. carb off a gasser motor and putting on a dualquad tunnel ram?

Horsepower potential with THE RAMIFOLD ? I don't even want to dwell on it... ... .....

But I gotta admit the suspense is killing me!!!!Oo.

:D I had to smack myself this morning!!

I started to think of the injectors that will be needed for a set-up like this!!

And what about turbos!!!!

SMACK!! :{

That one was for the rest of the morning!! :-laf

I have been working on my new head for about 9 months now , we sliced the intake off of a scrap , and worked the ports , I have water jetted that head every which way possible to look as casting thickness, and have seen a big gain in air flow , but the best news to be had is in valve shape, and valve angles , the last 25 numbers are totally in that area, I have vatted the pieces of head and will post pictures this weekend , don’t expect to see the valves I have done a lot of Data logging of the racing Cummins, and now have a EGT’s in every port, and pressures in several areas. The new valve train and other updates on this motor as I further its developmental curve with be on the cutting edge ,

Comp- on April 13th you posted this ( see part(s) of the orig. post above)

Then forward in thread to post # 25 (another one of Comps post entries)

Then go forward yet some more to your post entry # 35

And then go to yet another one of your *plugs* I mean posts #63 & #65

And yesterday you threw in another *plug* I mean post #160

And thus far - No Pics as promised on April 13 for the weekend (Apr. 16 or 17)

No such information towards as you put it *cutting edge technology* mostly plugs
*me* this and *I* that and *my* this and *mine* that- and let's not even get into how many times you have to mention your cronies that no one really hears anything about other than from you- the only thing I've heard about was what a waste of money the parts one of your cronies dupes- I mean sells to unsuspecting people... .
Please in the future- only post information pertaining to the thread your reading-
Keep the *plugs* to yourself- if you wish to plug something or someone or yourself- Do so on a new thread so far you have contributed NOTHING that anyone is talking about. You come out of nowhere with one of *your* "cutting edge-front line thoughts and then shamelessly plug your $$Cronies$$

I ask you this: WHY?!!

Hey everybody,
I seem to be experiencing a problem with replying to PM's with my computer-probally time to update. So I would like to say to all the people responding with PM's to feel free to say anything through the thread here... ...

First off I would like to thank everyone for their kind compliments and thoughts. Thanks guys!!:D It helps to motivate my desire to research even more AND to post my work- I said it a bunch of times already but: I've got no secrets to hide!
Some may frown upon releasing ANY valuable tidbits publiclly- but to me SECRETS stink!:{ How will we ever really know what the true limits of our CTD's if everything is kept quiet? What works for one will work for another- but how will anyone even know if its not posted?? I mean isnt that why The TDR was started? For all us owners of CTD's to trade information-read information and to find out what others are finding? Sometimes our own built-in competitiveness gets the best of us and we close up and keep quiet... . :{ . Heck if some other person is onto something worthwhile but gets stuck- someone else out there might just in fact have the answer!! Speak up !!
Since I started posting this thread here it has been getting ALOT of views- so there are lots that are interested- but where's the feedback? Instead of PM's
I say post away here!! The great enthuisiasm helps (really does!) Get on the bandwagon and let your thoughts free... ... :D Hopefully some of the information here has helped out some of you- maybe not- I don't know ( nobody is saying so?)
The people that know me can vouch for me in saying that I'm straight up with everything and that's how it's been, some would rather not be so forthcoming.
But isnt that why we log onto this fine website here?
Allright I'm stepping down off my soapbox now... ... ... Thanks again for all your compliments... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... .

RacinDuallie:)

I agree. The idea for the forums are not for everyone to just sling mud at each other, but rather to put up information, and others to comment. Now, I do enjoy a bit of banter, especially with humor, good natured, invloved.

The more we all share, the more we all learn. As I have posted before, We are here to help each other go faster, safer, and have a little fun... .

BRING ON THE POSTS!

No its one of many I have built , its a G/ED chevy trailblazer manilfold here is the motor on the dyno , in the finnal pull was 650 hp @9000 RPM from a little 268 on carbs .
