Possibly the only selfie I've ever taken. Best half Linda, our son Jacob and yours truly. Jacob was leaving for deployment that day with the S.C. Army National Guard, he's served his deployment and back home.

Not jhenderson but....

Thats a Forwarder. A skidder drags the wood behind rather than being able to load and carry the wood.

Mikes video is very flattering. The guy running that forwarder is sitting in a $300,000 machine. About a quarter million more than mine is worth, and 1/2 again as big. He'd have put up a vid of my machine but they didn't have moving pictures when mine was made. No mud, that was last august. No black flies either. My wife stopped by to bring Timber ( the 140lb security guard) lunch. By noon in august I smell bad enough to knock a buzzard off a gut wagon. The buckies and the deer flies won't even come near me, but they'll carry a visitor home and eat them there.

No, I meant that I was not jhenderson but I would answer the question on his behalf....:D

Wasn't sure when he would be back on here...and yes, I picked him a very fancy forwarder video...:D

OH, I get it now. I had to go back a re-read through the posts. I feel pretty stupid. There is some equipment like that in Nor Ca, where I'm from but I never really knew any logger people. I don't care if it's as small as a 9N or as big as a Komatsu D575A, I'm all ears.

I thought all of you eastern loggers used "chain oil" on their hard hats to keep the black flies busy?

I have been in the woods for "Cat" when I was designing the 518B and the 528B skidders, were I saw this practice by loggers in the eastern wood plots. This was along time ago back in the 80's and early 90's.

Times change. Today guys without my natural ability to hold flies at bay use Avon Skin So Soft. It works pretty well with the added benefit of helping you feel your feminine side when you belly up to the bar with the rest of the boys after work.

I'd be picking shop techs off of me all day long if I wore the Avon to work.....they don't appear to be at all fussy when it comes to that...must be a side effect of the occasional Ford that they have to work on..:D:-laf

Of course I still miss DDT.....we didn't have to worry about ticks and such when I was a kid.....DDT just took a big old swath through the bugs and insects...

Just think, they outlawed DDT because they were worried about brain damage. Looking at the average person, I'd say their actions were unsuccessful:rolleyes:
