After looking into it, I was wrong. I thought 2500's got the 11.5 with the HO's (early 4th gen HO) and then all of them in 2013, but it appears it was much earlier than that (04?).

Ya, it sure is, the Dealer did a bate and switch with a regular Titan 4X4 that emailed me an offer of 35K. They only had one XD on the lot, and its more than I want to pay. I'm going to wait for more Dealer stock. I will also have more equity in my RAV4 as well as more cash in June, which will not allow me to bring one to May Madness, but will be just in time to tow my Boat to my Daughters River Party in Parker AZ. The only ones I saw are the higher end trucks over $55K dealer asking price. I'll wait.

I agree, that's a lot of money, but I want someone to buy one and share the info, it might as well be you:) I like Parker but not the river, if the body of water is more than I can drink, I would drown.

I'm going to call it "my Pony", its for getting around and towing the boat only. But I wonder if B&W sells a 5th wheel bracket kit for it? That way I can tow under the 65' combination length with my 5ver and Boat combined?

:--)What, you mean I cant add the boat to the back of the 5ver. Now I'm going to have to buy a used Ford Courier to pull both. :-laf

But what about the axle weights, as long as I stay within GAWR's. :-laf

OK, I'm done with joking, however I will be towing my boat in my signature, it weights a little over half of the tow rating. I was amazed when I saw a seven pin trailer plug on my new Tacoma, there are not to many trailers within that range that have electric brakes. Our older 2001 V6 Prerunner Tacoma towed it, that we gave to our Daughter, and an odd thing happened on the very first tow with it. The boat trailer brakes did not release all the way on the passenger side, and they got very hot in the first 30 min of the trip. I was towing the 5ver with my older 2500, so I had to just remove the brake shoes at the rest stop and removed the hydraulic brake line (quick disconnect). My wife towed it another 200 miles that way and I followed behind her at 55 mph (Calif speed limit towing) without any struggles to stop it. With 6400 lb. trailer tow rating & 640 lb. tongue weight rating on the new Tacoma, I'm confident with the higher tow rating than what the 2001 Tacoma had, it will be just fine.

Bring it to next years May Madness. Can't wait to see the horse laughs you get.
Just incase there are assumptions that I traded in my 3500, I still have the 3500. But maybe I'll buy a trailer to pull the Tacoma behind the 5ver next May Madness, and do some serious off roading in Pahrump NV. ;)

I think i found a solution to the gooseneck we pulled where rhe brakes were locked up. We were using a 7 pin/6 pin adapter and apparently this is a common problem.

I will rewire my adapter if using it in the future.

We just disconnected the brake wire. But that wasn't a legal solution.

Does the Tacoma have an integrated brake controller that is adjustable?

See this video for rewiring your adapter.

No, and I don't need it, the boat brakes are the surge activated type. If I need to tow something that requires a brake controller I'll tow that with my 3500 and Smart Brake controller. ;)
