Power steering pump is the same. The reservoir is different on hydraboost systems, mid '96 and later with another return line added to the reservoir. The vacuum pump on the earlier dodges is a dual diaphram Gould, I believe. The diaphrams occasionally go bad and they won't pull vacuum and let oil go into the vacuum lines, albeit very rare. The later models use a Gould piston pump that are even more dependable and can pull a little more vacuum, quicker. Either one is more than sufficient for vacuum assisted brakes and operating the dash A/C doors. I've never had one of the 2nd gens apart, but looking at the externals, I'd presume it ran with a piston. I've never had one go bad.

Im thinking if i can fing a 96 or 97 would be the best choice but id take a 94 or early 98

as well Any one which years dont have the corect motor mount holes ?

on the starter wire what is it just a wire that goes to the fuel shut off ? Any thing to change on that since some of those gen 2s have shut off issues , I dont want to have a melt down in my truck What is the trick in swapping vacume /power steering pumps ? if its just a t on the powersteering , nobig deal but the truck does have the power brake situation
